You know, at first I didn't think 5.7 preview was really gonna have anything that was going to excite me, but the retargeting for even meshes I used to struggle with in 5.6 is so simple now! What used to take me hours of fiddling with animations and RTG assets takes minutes and it's automatic!

Max try not to casually do the coolest UE5 things you've never even thought about doing challenge, level impossible
Now I definitely did it. Am I a super genius? Or maybe Wile E. Coyote? Generate a texture with text in any language and font for the decal and a customizable frame. Now I will write on the walls. Unreal Engine my cave

New in UE5-Main this week, Lumen Irradiance Cache, a probe based lumen mode for lower end devices (its super early!) , compared here with default Hardware Lumen, less occlusion detail & reflections loose out quite a bit but still leagues better than no lumen!

Oh great, another round of people shitting on Unreal just because that's popular. I wish I could exclude that from my gamedev feeds, it's like 60% of my UE dev feed rn. And like, 90% of the people hating don't even develop.

maybe don't make games that need to cost $100
AAA video games should cost $100 on launch. this would still be extremely cheap for the amount of time and enjoyment you get out of them! But an audience of whiny babies has kept them literally at the same price for *two decades* despite both general inflation *and* sector-specific costs rising

I did it! Unreal Engine is my superpower? I was thinking of making a mini game out of this, but for starters it will be a simple mechanic (look at my previous posts). This is a prototype and this is just the beginning. Where are my 10100K followers? :)

Implemented the Levin Darter Wyvern into the game! Still pending adjusting its number values for ideal movement, and animation transitions need to be fixed. Using a WIP flight system and placeholder map.
