Doing testing in Unreal, Unity, and Godot.

I've got workflows for all 3 now!

Unity hates Shape Key animations as custom props, and Godot flat-out can't import custom props. So I have a new mode where a dummy mesh is created for Shape Key anim exports.

This has turned into a massive feature 😅
Are you a game artist who's worked with shapekeys in Blender and went crazy trying to export animations?

New tutorial is up! Use Deformer Graphs to ignore morph target normals, or transfer normals between meshes (like a Blender Data Transfer modifier)

Spent the last few weeks on python scripts for my Blender asset workflow.

My characters are hard to maintain -- I have:
* "raw" meshes I iterate on
* "final" meshes I animate in Blender
* "unreal" meshes for export to Unreal

A change used to take hours, now I convert in 1 click!

Exercise your observation skills. I.E. be able to look at a person, an animal, architecture, etc and see the forms making it up.

If you're a 3d artist do this by sculpting with reference (preferably photos or a mirror, not illustrations), and doing more quicker studies.
