400+ hrs into Darktide and I'm still dumbfounded by how bad it is at explaining its mechanics.

Most recently; The bonesaw weapon. It has two modes. Yellow and Purple. One applies BRITTLENESS the other TOXIN.

Which is which? Never told.

Last year, this is what the UI looked like a week in to starting.

It didn't even DO ANYTHING. Just opened when I hit a button. The stuff behind it is a png.

Bit by bit, I built on it over the last year into what you're seeing now.

Just start. That's the hardest part.

Got a bunch done this weekend!
•Lucky can now detach and reattach cleanly.
•Lucky can now draw bodies and items, getting slower with each item tugged.
•Lucky can now latch onto NPCs and control them. Even change the HUD color during that.

(And sooo much code base cleanup.)

This screenshot has brought to light that the material for particles is (was) broken. Note how the colors are blending. That's a big no no for my requirement only to use the 32 colors of the pico8 palette.

Fixed.
Does this count as deflecting with 'humor'?

A dry update;
Finished refactoring ref calls throughout the project and HUD.
Can now cleanly possess and unpossess characters.
Can now make FAKE actors that will react to combat but do not share the logic.
Player currency now stored on the GM and can be shared between actors.
