Who has told Europe that it cannot do anything? And why is everybody repeating that BS? And doing nothing, instead of mending what is not right? Trump is acting out of fear, just like any bully. (For Pete's sake, look up the statistics about economy, science etc. And we can still do far better.)
Zelensky told us the harsh truth.

Europe is acting like a geopolitical midget when it should be a titan.

We have the resources to defeat Russia. We just choose not to use them.

It is time to grow up, mobilize our strength, and finish this war.

No more excuses

Building in Siberia collapses die to snow. (Who would have expected snow in Siberia?)
The roof of a shopping center collapsed in Novosibirsk due to snow. One person was rescued by rescuers.

The builder and owner received state funds to construct the building, completed to Russian standards.

Oh dear. How sad. Never mind.

Seen news items about this? Me neither. But this is highly relevant; Russia's last reserves melting away, next time Nothing to stop them from going off the cliff.
Russian National Welfare Fund data shows that Russia quietly bailed out its banks in May. A report from the Center for Macroeconomics and Short-Term Forecasting said Russia bailed out its banks without disclosure earlier in 2025.

Sovcombank, Gazprombank, VTB, Sberbank, and Vneshecombank bailed out.

By late 2013,Ukrainians had realized that Yanukovych was working for Russia.Knowing that neither the courts nor parliament would save them, they took to the streets.

Today, most Americans realize that Trump is working for Russia, too. The Supreme Court and Congress have failed them. Quo vadis? (@mhmck)

I know he'll be back, but can European and other leaders now please spend the spare minutes to ramp up support for Ukraine, increase the pressure to stop Israel's ongoing genocide in Gaza, and strengthen efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions? Thank you for your attention to these matters.

In Europe many seems to have the impression that people do not fight back against Trump.
I have been actively involved in protest movements for 24 years. I have never seen anything approaching this scale. Minneapolis is not accepting what's happening here. ICE fucking murdered a woman for participating in this, and all that did is bring out more people, from more walks of life.

“..he has staffed his administration with sycophants eager to cast out anyone who objects. Yet this assault on professionalism has also undermined Trump’s ability to get what he wants, because nobody left will tell him that what he wants is impossible, deeply unpopular, or both”
For all that the president has done his first year in office, “the prognosis for democracy in the United States is far better today than it was at the start of Trump’s second term,” @qjurecic.bsky.social argues:
American Democracy Is Showing Signs of Life
One year into Trump’s second term, the country’s institutions and civil society are still checking his authoritarian impulses.

Yesterday, Deutsche Bank floated the possibility that EU/NATO countries dump US treasury bonds in lieu of a military conflict. The FT carried it earlier & I've seen reels on Insta. Clearly, this is risky as it could implode the banking system. But with US debt what it is, it's a real Achilles heel.
