This is ugly, but totally predictable.

Here's a bit of Rhiannon Giddens & Justin Robinson performing “Hook and Line,” from 'What Did the Blackbird Say to the Crow,' their upcoming album of 18 favorite North Carolina tunes, due April 18. It's a traditional tune from their mentor Joe Thompson’s repertoire;

Trump is calling for the implementation of—and the punishment of those who fail to follow—“patriotic education,” as outlined here.

*This* is indoctrination—heritage, not history. My goodness.

Teaching has taught me that when needed: I can take my cuppa black with no milk or bit of sugar. Over-steeped.

I am glad it is Sunday.

I grew up near moose and without virtually any safety training aside from: don’t go near the babies.
It was fine! I also think I was a dumb & lucky. Snow White did a number on me.

My big sis is the one who was chased home from school by an angry mama. I don’t think you’re supposed to run.
Vermont is another realm altogether from what I’m used to.

Just got an email that moose tracks have been spotted in the middle of campus so now they’re having to warn us what to do in case of a moose encounter. NEW FEAR UNLOCKED.

3 “pieces” of gin???? In the morning???? He didn’t give his day a chance!!!
This was a year ago. Ordered and drank 3 gin and tonics for breakfast on a workday. Sexual assault, ran two nonprofits into the ground, racist.
Republican Senators are actually prepared to turn over the most lethal army in the world to this man. Because they’re afraid they’ll be….”primaried”??

I have to admit I’ve been more into threads because that place connected me with all my niches so fast. Knitting, middle school teaching, and conscious discipline for secondary school.

The state of media for Americans is so completely broken
I want to watch TV coverage of the live fall of the Syrian regime.

CNN is airing a Giuliani documentary, Fox News has a comedian joking about Canada, MSNBC a documentary about migrants

So I turned on BBC,which is breathlessly switching between Syria, South Korea demonstrations, and Ghana election

Of all of the life skills I was not taught (and holy shit there’s been a lot) budgeting and finances is the one I want to finally master in 2025. I have debt, I have always struggled with money, I just want that to change. I’m sick of money-related panic attacks.

It's even more true when we're talking about fucking high school sports, where the majority of kids are never going to play beyond those 4 years (which they are doing for love of the game, team building, resume building, etc.).
Study of trans athletes concludes blanket sports bans are a mistake.

The lead researcher of a landmark IOC-funded study looking at strength, power & aerobic capacity of trans athletes says “sports federations should consider its findings carefully.”

At the risk of sounding like a conspiracy theorist: If the pattern of T*ump accusing people of doing things he does is correct. Then, he absolutely did rig or manipulate the results of this election.

As I asked a Jill Stein voter who lived in **Georgia** “how is your vote going to help Palestinians in any way?”

Note well, "Luca" and "Turning Red" were the Pixar movies (along with "Soul") that were released directly to Disney+ during the pandemic. Luca was the #1 streamed movie of 2021; Turning Red was the #2 streamed movie of 2022. That seems pretty universal. (Soul also streamed well + 2 Oscars.)
Just fold the studio into Disney and kill it already. Make Toy Story sequels till the sun fucking burns out. Love how this shift conveniently happened when more woman/POC were really pushing to direct their own stories. Defining their experiences as not "universal" is saying the quiet part aloud.

EXCLUSIVE: Trump’s White House Was ‘awash in speed’ and Xanax

If you ever looked at the actions of the Trump administration and wondered, ‘Are they on drugs?’ — the answer was, in some cases, yes. Absolutely, yes.
