I just wrote my first set of #morningpages. My hand is beyond sore. I hope to gain more stamina with regular practice. I started not because I feel completely blocked. I wanna level up. I'm writing a dissertation, a feature length screenplay, in post on a short, and pre- on another short.
HOW do the OG abolitionists do it? I'm a baby in comparison to many of the folks who've been doing this for decades.

Pero, this whole place thrives on the force of violence. What would be possible if many many more of us who wanted any aspect of it to end, organized ourselves with *that* in mind?

I be so stressed reading this stuff as someone who believes in and works towards PIC abolition.

What is PIC? What is PIC abolition: from our comrades at Critical Resistance: criticalresistance.org/mission-visi...

There are just so many issues with the "If Kamala were president..." statements.
January 29, 2026 at 8:46 PM
And I voted for her. So don't even try the foolishness with me.

This is why I need a long-form blog loooool

It is HIGHY likely that Kamala wouldn't have done many of the things 46 is doing. AND let's be clear, she's not a pacifist. She is not pro-abolition or pro-defund. We can't be okay with state violence anywhere. Part of why we're here today is because its acceptable for people to suffer "elsewhere."
January 29, 2026 at 8:44 PM
Well...I can almost guarantee that she would've contributed to or turned something a war zone somewhere. Her remarks about the military made it clear.

War zones shouldn't exist anywhere.
If Kamala had been elected Minneapolis would not have been turned into a war zone where people are gunned down in the streets.

I want to write essays, have them edited by somebody, publish them somewhere, and send them out. Trying to do decide where to do that in 2026 is 😮‍💨

Looking at Beehiiv, Ghost, and Buttondown.

Thank's y'all! I got some clarity and some other options.
Hey, question (if you feel like answering): What's the political issue with using Sub Stack?

I've seen folks saying its a no no, and I'm not clear why.

Trusted friends in Minneapolis tell me that this fund is supporting many people but does not have enough money. If you can give, please do: chuffed.org/project/1671...
EMERGENCY RENT FUND: Support Workers in Minnesota
Rent is due FEBRUARY 1st. Support our Emergency Rent Fund for Minnesotan workers and families facing eviction due to ICE Raids. We are calling for a rent moratorium, but regardless of if that happens ...

Sending love to all the folks who do work to end Family Policing everyday. May this be a key moment that people tune into the destruction of families that happens everyday in this country.

We need more plays, more movies more tv shows, more discussions that tell the truth about slave societies in the western hemisphere.

Ban all past and future presidents of the United States from receiving and prizes until much further notice. And I mean all.

I didn’t go to film school and have no plans to. I am steadily building my knowledge while continuing to make films and write. Im writing another feature (I know, yes I’m also finishing my dissertation). It helps me manage my sanity.

Beautifully made and clearly references one of the greats — Sembéne’s Black Girl (1966)
I really liked NANNY (2022), the first feature film from Nikyatu Jusu. Weaves West African folklore with scarily relevant topics such as the immigrant experience of labor exploitation by rich, self-absorbed white American families. In turns uplifting and devastating, and *gorgeous* to look at.

I watched Hedda the other day. DeCosta does deviance well. Too damn well.
Just watched Nia DeCosta’s latest spooky, demented, and wild ride of a film. I should’ve watched 28 Years Later first! But anyway, if you wanna be creeped tf out, go see it! #28YearsLaterTheBoneTemple

*dissociating from all the “it’s not legal to pepper spray or assault bystanders* where were those of you who were adults less than 15 years ago? Hell, five years ago.
