WE NEED CALLS NOW! HR 9495, now known as Section 112209, if passed, would give the Trump administration unprecedented power in suppressing nonprofits, by allowing the administration the power to strip organizations of their tax exempt status!

Cannot stress Amy's second point enough. It's both morally wrong and unbelievably dangerous for Jews to allow ourselves to be used as the wedge to overturn basic civil liberties in this country.
As far as I can tell, Khalil has still not been charged & his attorney/family still don’t know where he is.

Any Jew who thinks this is going to start and stop with a few Palestinian activists is fooling themselves. Our community should not be used as an excuse to upend democracy & the rule of law.
The Trump admin is exploiting real concerns about antisemitism to undercut democracy: from gutting education funding to deporting students to attacking diversity, equity, & inclusion.

As we’ve repeatedly said: this makes Jews - & so many others - less safe.

For journalists, writers, artists, historians, photographers and cultural workers -- it's going to be so, so important that we document and bear witness to this moment in history.

It's going to be hard, and many of us will have to move differently. But we must try.

Today I summarized Beauty and the Beast for my 2 year old as “a show about a girl who’s different than the people around her. She loves books, and that makes her special.”

That should do for a couple years? Also at bedtime she started saying, “I love books, too!” Though only maybe related…

just became the deciding votes to gut Medicaid.
Republicans canceled the budget resolution vote, then decided to hold it, Spartz and Davidson flipped, and they cleared it by one vote.

House Republicans just voted to gut Medicaid, which covers 1 in 5 Americans overall, including 41% of births and 63% of nursing home care.

They also just voted to gut SNAP, on which 41 million food insecure Americans rely.

This won’t just harm people. This will kill people.

They own this.

Why? To pay for tax giveaways for billionaires and billionaire corporations.

Working people won't forget this. We need to fight back.

What is inherent to our species is a drive for cooperation and altruism. But its been hacked by the hero narrative. Kind of like how high salt/fat/MSG foods hack our hunger so we keep eating the Doritos. The hero narrative uses the best of us against ourselves and leads to the notion of supremacy.
