Great video by @madisonswart.bsky.social showing our earnest elected officials attempting to access an ICE detention facility to do oversight.

They explain. They ask. They chant. They sing!

Brad Lander and ten other elected officials were arrested inside 26 Federal Plaza after demanding access to observe the 10th floor, where detainees are held. The group staged a sit-in before Federal Protective Service officers moved in with zip ties.

Some reps reuniting after their arrests on the 10th floor. Including @jabaribrisport.bsky.social, Marcela Mitaynes, and @emilyassembly.bsky.social.

These actions are solemn and tense, but there's also so much fellowship and joy. These folks know who they are and what they're here to do together.

$15M in CEO compensation is something out of White Lotus. Exorbitant, indeed.

But pushing on the PSC hasn't solved the problem.

We have a solution to make utilities affordable—it's called NY HEAT. If we're serious about keeping costs low, we should pass it in the budget.

🧵We tend to celebrate individual politicians, but legislating is a team sport.

North Brooklyn was once party machine-dominated, with men (yes, mostly men) fighting each other for power — and our community paid for it. 1/

It’s us vs. the billionaires these next four years. Time to crack open your history books on the Gilded Age— we are living in it again, but like almost all sequels, this one is worse.
At least 14 billionaires are set to be part of the Trump team.

His administration will be by far the wealthiest ever assembled.

It will shatter the previous record, held by Trump's first administration.
