This is INSANE. Energy Star is a VOLUNTARY program that manufacturers love. It has paid back its modest costs hundreds of times over since its inception, and it helps customers find the best energy savings options without a fuss. Shameful.
Trump’s plan to end the Energy Star program is a blow to American families and businesses everywhere. This program has saved $500 billion in energy costs over the past 30 years. Energy efficiency isn’t just an environmental solution—it’s an economic one.

SMALL-HEADED FLY SMALL-HEADED FLY 👀

Maybe Pterodontia sp? I'd never seen any small-headed flies before, and there's only 3 Florida sightings in the family on iNaturalist. Absolutely bizarre chonky creature. Basically no head. Evolution can't keep getting away with this.

Ever wonder why shiny beetles aren’t immediately a predator’s lunch? 🪲🕷️ This study suggests shininess jumbles predators’ visual tracking!

On moving shiny targets, predator jumping spiders’ attacks were twice as variable and struck a zone two target-widths wider, compared to non-shiny targets 😎

Why are so many bugs shiny? New experiments with jumping spiders suggest the bling is visually confusing! Story also includes disco balls and Harry Styles. For Reasons 😆🧪 pursuit.unimelb.edu.au/articles/a-b...
