Just finished “The Diplomat” season 3. My gut says this is a good show. I like all the nods to “The West Wing.” The pacing and tensions are good. But never have I felt like every single character is being willfully arrogant and stupid the way they are in this show.

Thinking about my dad. He died 15 years ago, so he’s been gone for half as many years as he was in my life.
I’m tempted to sand off the rough edges, to idealize him, but the man was all rough edges. Despite that, he was deliberately friendly and kind. I miss him daily.
