Stephen tells a hell of a story. I have every single one of these novels and love them.

Buy these books, get a great set of reads, and help a human who is pretty remarkable in the process.

I am turning into that guy who doesn’t go to things because inevitably someone will ask a social question like “how are you” prompting me to either rant or lie. Ain’t nobody got time for that.

I love Uncle Deadly and I would take him on field trips to the Hollywood Wax Museum.

We failed as a people the moment we voted to allow an agency with the word “homeland” in its name.

I signed up for COBRA to keep my existing employer-provided medical coverage now that I have been officially released.

The monthly cost is staggering at $1,200 per month. That cost alone is going to bankrupt me pretty damned quick.

One last full-throated cry for pre-orders, as the window closes today. Books will be released on April 7th, 2026; I will be appearing at @crowsnest.quest, @illusivecomics.com, and Zulu's Board Game Cafe Bothell to sign and personalize copies.

All first edition printings will include a special card.
So why do I keep going on and on about OMENS OF CHAOS? A couple of reasons.

I think today is another day where I just take my meds, lay on the couch, and pray for relief.

What if I just order a pizza, turn off my phone, and play video games for the rest of the day?

What terrible news to wake up and read in the middle of the night.

Congress must act, but I fear they will not.

It’s a weird mix of sounds; rain, a little thunder, sirens, and idiots doing fireworks.

Jameson’s and Martinelli’s is halfway decent.

Q: "What was your biggest impact on the internet?"

Answer: I was on the development team for AOL Instant Messenger, and prior to that, I ran beta tests for AOL software and internet browsers. I can't claim sole credit for the idea, but I also proposed using HTML to format email text.

Several days ago, when I thought I'd be celebrating, I got a couple of bottles of Martinelli's sparkling cider so the kids and I could toast the new year. Since that's not happening ever, I have two bottles to drink.

I'm going to mix it with Jameson's and watch movies.

In the late 1980s, I wasn't looking where I was going, and I slammed into Kirstie Allie while rushing through a doorway, knocking us both down.
Right folks. Feeling rather down at the moment so bringing back an oldie

Post a perfect album from the 90s that isn't nirvana, soundgarden, pearl jam, or alice in chains.
Harder Mode: no Tool albums.

I played this album on repeat for so long my fiancé threatened to leave me, or at the very least destroy the physical media. It’s still in heavy rotation.

Treating myself to some new games on Steam;
- Balder's Gate 3
- MegaBonk

And a friend sent me:
- Dispatch
- Final Fantasy Tactics; The Ivalace Chronicles

I think I will be busy the rest of the day.

Fed the neighbor cat who comes to my backyard. Filled the bird feeders. I think I might be turning into “that” old man.

2017 was the last Christmas I got to spend with my younger brother.
My brother loved gin rummy and backgammon, two games I learned to play so we could play. I loved D&D, so he learned so we could play. Neither of us said so, but that was our love language.

I miss him a lot this week.

Seanan makes the only truly relevant point; children are completely their own persons, and what their parents, guardians, or the state wish them to be does not mean they must be those things.

Let people, all people, be who they are or who they are aspiring to be. The world will be better if we do.
I keep wanting to say something, and I keep not knowing what to say.

The trans community does not harm cis people by existing. They are just trying to live their lives, same as anyone else. That life doesn't look exactly like mine; my life doesn't match anyone else's. That's okay.
