i do have to wonder if teaching by the three cueing method also predisposes people to being unwilling to look up unfamiliar words. if you're trained to guess or skip everything unfamiliar, you might not ever use a dictionary when encountering an unfamiliar word

It is hard to emphasize enough how much Americans CANNOT READ and LITERALLY do not know what your post said before they reply to you. They have no skill for figuring out what you ACTUALLY said. They think this is how everybody experiences reading.
ever since I learned about three-cueing I've developed infinitely more patience for replies on social media. mfers literally do not know how to read. people are walking around conjuring random meanings into words they don't know, and they don't know a lot of words. it's crazy
