That one person can drag us into a war without consulting or even notifying Congress, or our allies, or fully explaining to the American people why this is necessary, is absolutely bonkers.

Reminder that Congress has the power to stop all of this. Where the hell are they?

The first "All Talking" picture includes nice gangsters, asshole cops, forgettable leads and a "dirty rat" line. It was directed by Bryan Foy, one of the Seven Little Foys, whose career intersected w/Babe Ruth, Humphrey Bogart, Johnny Cash, Ronald Reagan and JFK. eriklundegaard.com/item/movie-r...
Movie Review: Lights of New York (1928)
WARNING: SPOILERS It was revolutionary, the first “All Talking” picture, but what it modeled was same-old. Basically it’s a filmed play. We get a setting, from which people enter and exit, then we...

DHS says REAL ID, which DHS certifies, is too unreliable to confirm U.S. citizenship
It's the punch line to a bad joke that started 20 years ago when Congress passed the REAL ID Act.

By amplifying this post calling Kilmar Abrego Garcia a “terrorist,” the Trump administration just violated the court order that they reference.

I was wondering what Mamdani's first executive order would be, and I'm not disappointed by this.

He has wiped off the books EVERY Eric Adams executive order issued on or after September 26, 2024, the day Adams was indicted on federal bribery charges.

“The billionaire class has sought to convince those making $30-an-hour that their enemies are those earning $20-an-hour. They want the people to fight amongst ourselves so that we remain distracted from the work of remaking a long, broken system.”

uhhh yeah I can see why these childcare properties weren't eager to let in some rando dudes asking "where are the kids?"

On Jack Smith deposition, now released:

100% obvious why GOP refused to allow this as open testimony, aired live. It's damning.

Testimony from John Dean or Alex ("wiretaps") Butterfield in Watergate days would have 1/10th the impact if just in print.

What Smith says is far more incriminating.

My book-lover hot take for 2026: Publishers should revive the old Pocket Books format (5.5 inches by 6.5 inches), a lovely size that really did fit in a pocket. Here is an old Pocket Book next to a classic mass-market paperback, the other standard now headed for extinction.

They think the son of an immigrant, a man who resurrected a forgotten founding father because he reminded him of his own father, a man who wrote the lyrics "Immigrants, we get the job done," that THAT GUY would perform for Trump????

What dipshits.
Issa Rae has canceled her sold out performance at the Kennedy Center. Pulitzer Prize winner Rhiannon Giddens, Peter Wolf, Low Cut Connie, and the Gay Men’s Chorus of Washington, D.C., have also canceled. Lin-Manuel Miranda has canceled the entire Kennedy Center run of Hamilton.

Increase in productivity since 1979: 87%

Increase in hourly pay since 1979: 32%

Just so happens that ~25% of workers were unionized in 1979. Today? 10%.

As unions declined, the super-rich have taken a larger share of wealth generated by labor. We must build back union power.

The biggest divide in America today is not between “right” and “left,” or between Republicans and Democrats.

It’s between democracy and oligarchy.

The old labels — “right” and “left” — prevent most people from noticing they’re getting the shaft.

Know the truth.
