I would love to read a deep dive into how celebrity crisis comms has evolved over the years. And how social media ruined the old model of burying bad press but it along with parasocial fandom has also eliminated any possibility of grace.

I mainly need to finish writing my novel to replicate in fiction the time an older woman was talking to my bf and kept mentioning her daughter then finally clocked me and said oh sorry is this your girlfriend? And when he said yes she gave me a once over and said “well my daughter is petite.”

Spiderhunt used to be a top one for me but someone I intensely dislike loves that one which cast a pall on it for me so my favorite group one is The Last Wedding
The group chat has been angry and depressed so today for some levity we are discussing our favorite New Girl episodes where the whole plot of the episode revolves around all of them being together

I’m not sure how they could lie any more brazenly than they already are *with* the videos.
Imagine how much they’d be lying about what happened without all the videos showing it from multiple angles.

I love dingdong. I think we also need to resurrect nincompoop and dweeb.
I'm trying to collect more epithets that aren't ablelist or profane. Haven't heard "dingdong" in a while - might put it into the rotation! Thanks, @anjalikdayal.bsky.social!

Memes matter more than saved lives -this janky ass administration
I want to appreciate for a moment:

There’s a historic ice storm bearing down on a huge part of the country. And government workers are being told to downplay the ice—the most damaging part of the storm—bc they’re worried it might remind people of the government’s disastrous occupation in Minnesota
CNN: DHS officials have come to FEMA staff and told them to limit the use of the word ice…they are worried that by posting something like, watch out for the ice, that it's going to become a meme….
