Pierce Brosnan doesn't get enough kudos for great work in THE WORLD IS NOT ENOUGH. When Bond stares down Elektra King it is a MOMENT.

We hear about Dalton being more of the ruthless, Fleming-esque Bond, but when Brosnan brings menace to the table it means something.

Bond as a conferred identity is dumb.

Bond as a character whose story resets with every new actor is dumb (as much as I hate the Madeleine Swann character with every fiber of my being.)

If you think these things you don't like the Bond series.

And that's okay!

Thanks for coming to my Ted talk.

What insufferable handwringing. There are a thousand ways Bond could have escaped No Time to Die. If there even is an issue figuring out how, which I doubt, it's probably because they hired writers who don't really like the property and character. Happy to take over for them!
James Bond’s death in No Time to Die is causing a nightmare for the next film. Writers are stuck because Bond “was blown to pieces.”

Anthony Horowitz, author of three 007 novels, says:

“You can't have him wake up in shower and saying it was all a dream."

I love HORROR EXPRESS because it's shot mostly in mediums and mostly overly lit with head on key lighting with zero care for continuity and it does not matter AT ALL.
Absolute king shit 🤍

Enjoyed catching SEE NO EVIL for the first time tonight! As a chronic rewatcher and lover of sometimes obscure 70s cinema, it's always exciting to experience a film that somehow flew under your radar. Thanks @amcinematheque.bsky.social @realgdt.bsky.social!

It took me three patient years to manifest this Danny Torrance costume from THE SHINING for Halloween but in the year of our lord 2025 the eBay gods smiled upon me.

I'm not the only one who comes up with the best Halloween costumes 2 days before Halloween when they're now impossible to fabricate, necessitating a years-long backlog of costumes... right?

Ron Friedman's class at USC was an opportunity to expand our understanding of how art and sound shape cinema. One lesson really stayed with me:

Go outside. Make a list of everything you hear. The birds. An AC hum. Distant train bells. You need to hear those in your movie for the world to feel real.

It's ironic to see Disney capitulate to Nazis when anti-Nazi films were the only thing that kept the studio alive in the 1940s. Maybe they should watch some of their own films.

Today is the LAST DAY to catch Ondi Timoner's new doc ALL THE WALLS CAME DOWN at the Laemmle Glendale. 5:15 PM.

Shooting this film has not only been a powerful experience during my own recovery, but it has already changed lives impacted by the Eaton Fire. I'm so proud.

If we can learn one thing from Redford, it's that what makes movies special are the characters, and their stories, and their emotions, and making them MEAN something. His whole career was a commitment to artistry, to asking questions, to finding some kind of truth. We need more filmmakers like that.

What you feared would come like an explosion, is like a whisper. What you thought was the end, the beginning.

Goodbye, Robert Redford. Enjoy your rest.
