Happy possibly 100th birthday to the incomparable Lee Grant!

Deep thoughts brought to you by the windswept fall foliage tumbling throughout SEE NO EVIL, which Richard Fleischer gives us time to feel in our bones but most films today wouldn't.

Enjoyed catching SEE NO EVIL for the first time tonight! As a chronic rewatcher and lover of sometimes obscure 70s cinema, it's always exciting to experience a film that somehow flew under your radar. Thanks @amcinematheque.bsky.social @realgdt.bsky.social!

It took me three patient years to manifest this Danny Torrance costume from THE SHINING for Halloween but in the year of our lord 2025 the eBay gods smiled upon me.

Had an incredible time at the @sitgesfilmfestival.bsky.social with @honeycuttheidi.bsky.social pitching our docuseries MOTHER OF ALL EVIL! Thank you so much #WomanInFan for inviting our project. I'm so energized by my horror film fam and ready to get back to work!

Ron Friedman's class at USC was an opportunity to expand our understanding of how art and sound shape cinema. One lesson really stayed with me:

Go outside. Make a list of everything you hear. The birds. An AC hum. Distant train bells. You need to hear those in your movie for the world to feel real.

It's ironic to see Disney capitulate to Nazis when anti-Nazi films were the only thing that kept the studio alive in the 1940s. Maybe they should watch some of their own films.

What you feared would come like an explosion, is like a whisper. What you thought was the end, the beginning.

Goodbye, Robert Redford. Enjoy your rest.

It's the most wonderful time of the year! Happy birthday to the boys, the ratpack of horror, Peter Cushing, Christopher Lee, and Vincent Price.

Goodbye, George Wendt, who I shot an interview with just three weeks ago. Incredibly funny, personable man. Such a fan of his work on Cheers and glad I got to meet him in person. Sending warm thoughts to his wife and family.

You can have a jawline that would make He-Man jealous and also just want to be fucking Mark Twain and I respect that.

Val Kilmer was a beautiful weirdo who rebelled against commodification of that beauty because he wanted collaborators and audiences to look deeper and recognize his true gifts as an artist. I'm glad he was able to make art on his own terms when no longer constrained by the box Hollywood kept him in.

Go watch some goddamned art.

Using a clip from LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS that features Mel Welles and Audrey Jr., instead of star Jonathan Haze (who died in 2024), in Roger Corman’s outrageously brief in Memoriam segment is pretty fucked up.

A totally callous, totally uncaring, totally expected move from the Academy. #Oscars

Three weeks ago a friend and I watched an impromptu Gene Hackman double feature of THE QUICK AND THE DEAD and UNFORGIVEN. It's amazing how different (and cruel) he makes these villians where others would just rinse and repeat a black hat trope. That's what elevates Hackman from "that guy" to star.
