Apple markets its new AirPods as being able to translate other languages directly in your ears. When @matteowong.bsky.social tested out the tool, it was barely able to help him buy flowers or tamales:

Kudos to Behind The Manga for doing an interview with Mitsuru Hattori, mangaka of Wash It All Away! I love how when he answers about incorporated cleaning techniques in his everyday life, he says he uses what he learns from Miss Kinme (in the Japanese) as if she exists, which is very sweet somehow.

No offense to GVG, but seeing them put up a video with a "translation" of the new Super Mario Galaxy storybook page that's just taking folks words for it when they openly used MTL feels kinda bad. Folks who actually speak the language have been correcting them in the comments.
