Former press director at the Labor Department; somehow purged twice by this ridiculous administration; writer of plays and one (1) real movie. DC

At this point, we need to be reading “The Free Press,” as an ironic literary device of a name. Sorta like Todd Solondz’ “Happiness.”
Bari Weiss built her career in part by whining about how the left was supposedly censoring conservatives. “The Free Press” - the unironic title of her publication - ran numerous pieces about a “censorship-industrial complex.”

Now, under her watch, we get to see real censorship - and hypocrisy.
Stephen Colbert blasted Brendan Carr after FCC scrutiny led CBS to pull an interview with Texas State Rep James Talarico. Instead, 'The Late Show' posted it to YouTube.

Definitely think we’re gonna be saying “probably in the files” long after anybody still remembers what that refers to. Like, somebody cuts you off in traffic or leaves a bad tip: “motherfucker… [muttering] probably in the files…”
It’s nice that swarovski crystals decided to make Funko Pops for people who are probably in the files

Honestly believe that Richard Nixon himself would be out here calling for hearings and arrests if somebody killed the Washington Post sports section.
Join us Thursday for a rally to #SaveThePost!! The rally will run from noon to 1 p.m. Thursday at 1301 K St. NW!!

This is the closest real life has come to Shakespeare in my 46 years on earth.
Queen Elizabeth knew about this stuff btw and intervened repeatedly to protect him

Labor Secretary Frances Perkins’ first challenge in office was figuring out what to do with Section 24, a gang of immigration agents who were causing chaos with “highly visible and extreme” raids on immigrant communities.

So she defunded them.

“If we were living under fascism, this post would be a death sentence” deeply and dangerously misunderstands how fascism actually works. Fascism is not a light switch. It’s a process.
If we were living under fascism right now, the words I’m writing would be a death sentence.
Hell no, it's not over
We still have rights. Time to use them.

Was just reading a section of Eichmann in Jerusalem that describes this, the utter silence that swallows up any hint of bravery.
Imagine being the person brave enough to leak this in the hopes that media attention could stop it and then the media just……buries it.

So I recently finished reading The Snow Leopard, and on the way to school the other morning, I said to my five-year-old. “I sort of think yetis exist.”

And she goes, “yetis DEFINITELY exist.”

So yetis exist now. End of discussion.
I'm surprised by Yeti. We've found human remains that are over 200,000 years old and we've found 0 Yeti remains.

I realize this conflicts with my whole "wow there are whales we haven't seen alive yet" thing BUT WE'VE SEEN THEM DEAD!

I don’t know what’s going to happen, but the almost unanimous assumption that he’ll stop with the East Wing/ballroom seems silly and credulous and unwise. It won’t overwhelm the White House itself if he also tears that down to build some awful palace.
The National Trust for Historic Preservation warned that President Trump’s planned 90,000-square-foot ballroom would “overwhelm the White House itself,” which spans just 55,000 square feet. https://wapo.st/4hmL8rC

Prime at least still does what it’s meant for. Your packages still come. Not sure what the Post is for.

I’m the exact age of guy for whom this man was the first Graham Greene.

Then later had to say “wait…” when learning about the English writer.

He really was excellent. One of the greats. RIP.
Graham Greene was one of those actors whose presence was absolutely, 100% guaranteed to make whatever movie or TV show he was in better. He added instant gravitas and authority, reliable stealthy humor and depth beyond whatever was on the page.

Should've been Emmy nominated for "Reservation Dogs."
Graham Greene, ‘Dances With Wolves’ Actor, Dies at 73
The actor’s role as Kicking Bird in the 1990 film ‘Dances with Wolves’ earned him a best supporting actor Oscar nomination.
