Standard caveats apply for 1 study but its finding that only 49% of authors are never using gen AI is a useful reminder that the normal arguments aren't working so we need to rely on social stigma

Let them know that if they don't respect your right to employment, you don't respect their friendship
New Report Examines Writers’ Attitudes toward AI
A study commissioned by the Gotham Ghostwriters and Bernoff.com found that while 61% of professional writers are embracing AI tools, authors, specifically fiction authors, are much more wary.

I’m multitasking at the moment between writing a contemporary horror mystery set in my suburb and a secondary world fantasy in a world with few rules.

It feels like I’m in a meeting about the colour of post-it notes and every now and again I leave the meeting to attend a raccoon rave in a volcano.

Full of emotion, genuine heart and even more genuine belly laughs, “Shitshow,” takes the best bits of Dr. Who and “Something Wicked This Way Comes,” the worst part of festivals, and smooshes it together into a stinky little horror comedy.

Excited to be involved in editing this full on fungal assault on the SFF world

So many great authors, psychedically rad mycelial artwork, and possibly the end of our universe as we know it, who can say

Throw a cheeky amount to the kickstarter if you can afford it and like chaos
Across dimensions, it creeps and consumes… prepare for your imagination to be consumed by THE BOOK OF SPORES 🍄🍄🍄

To celebrate the imminent release of The Scour, the prequel novella to The Empire of the Wolf trilogy from Grimdark Magazine, I wrote a disturbingly nerdy 3000 word deep dive article on the trilogy itself

A lot of heavy lifting on the word ‘celebrate’ there but check it out if you’re a Swanfan
When The Justice of Kings, the first volume in Richard Swan’s “Empire of the Wolf” trilogy, was first announced in 2021, it sent a thrill throughout the fantasy reading world. Now a best selling completed trilogy, @edcrockerbooks.bsky.social deep dives into why it enthralled the dark fantasy world.
The Empire of the Wolf Revisited: The Swan Deep Dive
Deep dive into Richard Swan's Empire of the Wolf trilogy and discover why the trilogy is about the law above all else.

The Autumn Springs Retirement Home Massacre by @pfracassi.bsky.social

"Rivals Fracassi’s best work... a deeply moving, marvelously twisty, and terrifyingly dark tale which gives us one of modern horror’s most triumphant final girls in the indomitable pensioner Rose DuBois."
REVIEW: The Autumn Springs Retirement Home Massacre by Philip Fracassi
