Thought I'd best do an intro, since people seem to do that...

I'm Em (they/them), probably mostly here as a writer of sad, slightly strange, queer and genderqueer sff. I also heard there's some great DS9 chat around...

Here's a picture of me looking somewhat hungover and in an awful mood 😄

Wait. So my elderly uncle *shouldn't* have been arrested for peacefully protesting genocide?

Le fucking gasp.

I think I would make a good assassin. No one would ever suspect me

I filled in the 'earned settlement' consultation! It was not hard to answer these questions and have my say in the comments boxes...

Please take 10 to 20 minutes to fill this thing in if you're not in favour of kicking people when they're down

Earned settlement
The government is consulting on how the current settlement system should be reformed and how those reforms should be implemented.

This.
"Refusing is actually the more hopeful expansive vision of the future."

We don't have to accept AI. We don't have to accept technology that is being created so that the powers that be can treat us inhumanely.

The future is not settled.
More people should listen to @tressiemcphd.bsky.social

When people say AI is inevitable, let them know the future isn’t settled.

Oh I actually kind of love this

We need more of the exaggerated and the absurd

I love some of the bland inanity of Olympic commentating

Fascinating insights 😄 But I'm having fun

I do like the sycafawn and this plant-deer is also my friend
Also if you liked the sycafawn, I did another tiny plant-deer here 😊
The bluebells are coming out again, looks like it's time to repost this drawing of a Bluejac from the Flowerpunk universe!

They are only tiny, about 20cm in height.

Read that article about the """writer""" generating 200 books a year with AI and needless to say, I had THOUGHTS

I would like a little sycafawn friend. I think it would like to travel around on my hand when its wings for tired, so it could explore further afield
Doodled up a little #Flowerpunk species, the sycafawn!

One of the tiniest members of the unguligrowth group of magical creatures, they reach a height of just a few inches. They live in and around sycamore trees as the name suggests, disguising themselves as seeds.

I was shy about sharing this, but I do think it's a rather nice story

It is, in fact, my first ever short story publication!

I've been rather touched (and occasionally embarrassed) by the positive reactions from people who don't even *have* to say nice things about my writing

Sigh

First of all, what a sad c*nt.

Second, she’s not a writer no matter how many books she vomits out. I’m not in competition with her. None of us writers are in competition with her. It’s not a contest. Writing isn’t a race it’s a process, it’s creativity, & she’ll never become one doing this.
“If I can generate a book in a day, and you need six months to write a book, who’s going to win the race?” God this is bleak

If you’re not trans and you think trans people protest too much…

I’m the mother of Alice a trans woman who died by suicide…

this stuff matters…mainstream media isn’t reporting it because they’re complicit in it…

Here’s why trans people and allies alike protest…
I've written a blog aimed at cis ppl, on the recent revelations of rising trans suicide rates since NHS England removed gender affirming care for u18s, in particular about my involvement with trying to seek the truth and the trauma the gaslighting by Appleby, Streeting, Cass and the media causes.
Trans youth suicide - the truth we've always known. What it means to me and what I've been doing about it.
Last week Queer AF broke a story that revealed the suicide rate in trans under eighteens is around fourteen times higher than you might expect from census data.As the parent of Alice a trans woman who...
