Is it true that any librarian would make a better president?

Or just librarians above some threshold, like 2025 patrons or 12,345 books?

Half expecting to see leaders of Russia/China/N. Korea show up in some Epstein files. Not as chums with other supervillains in there - probably flying solo. No pix though, just code names so the writer stayed alive.

To be fair (to a person who doesn't deserve it), the whole country suffers from that Derangement Syndrome, which is named for its source.

One thing about the overton window idea is that its effect is plainly evident in every daily dose of evil from evil people. 🥳

"Ford says it’s spending $2 billion to convert the factory to make prismatic lithium iron phosphate (LFP) cells. Those aren’t destined for EVs, but they are the preferred cell format for data centers, Ford says."
Ford ends F-150 Lightning production, starts battery storage business
It looks like battery electric vehicles are out of fashion at the Blue Oval.

A smart AI company will release a chatbot called "My Dumb Friend" and humans will pay to have a thing act like a dumb friend they can chat to. In some cases it will be an improvement!

Everyone needs to listen to Gustav Holst's "The Planets", not for hoity-toity nerd reasons, but because every epic sci-fi movie OST for the past century has been directly lifting shit from this one specific collection of pieces, and you deserve to hear your favourite motif in its native environment.

The number of local Cybertrucks went up as the number of local Hummers went down.

Or maybe it's just a coincidence.

One under-positive effect is the way the cult followers' brains are getting trained "that's not insane" so the overton window goes through the basement into the mantle. They will be hurting. Governments can rebuild into something that kinda works, but a population of crazies is generational work.
you'd think that the fact the president of the united states is completely fucking insane would be a bigger news story

After much research and development I have made an offline version of ChatGPT.

Started watching 2 pretty bad movies yesterday.

That's completely unremarkable - everybody does it. The amazing part was: stopped. Didn't finish, won't read the reviews, don't care. Read an imperfect book that was 10x better.
