The misinformation is stunning. The Senate just nuked filibuster rules to push through Trump judge appointments.

Then again, it's John Thune, who will literally repeat any talking point he's told to...
Thune: "If the Democrats had won the majority, they probably would've tried to nuke the filibuster. And then you'd have four new senators from Puerto Rico and DC, you'd have a packed Supreme Court, you'd have abortion on demand ... "

I have no words.
This Justin Fields pass attempt went off Dante Fowler's helmet and hits the overhead camera.

I’d like one newspaper to try out the headline “Republicans fail to attract Democratic votes they need to end shutdown” as a little treat.

I’m concerned that people won’t appreciate how big a line is being crossed here. Texas is suspending basic Constitutional freedoms for opposition lawmakers. This isn’t dipping your toe in the authoritarian waters, it’s diving head first into the deep end. This is big league authoritarianism.
Trump has done a lot of authoritarian things this year and IMO none of them is as authoritarian as restricting opposition legislators’ right to travel freely.
WILD situation in Texas right now: The House Speaker has required Dems, who just returned from their out-of-state quorum break, to have police escorts once they leave the chamber. One Dem is refusing to leave the House floor with escort, and GOP leaders have blocked press access to the chamber.

Well, I think this was always the hoped-for plan for the Overlord Class in the US - soon those camp inhabitants will be available for lease to pick your crops!
You live in a country that is establishing concentration camps & soon will be stripping citizens of their papers.
Trump on DeSantis's new detention camp for migrants: "We'd like to see them in many states. And at some point they might morph into a system."

Of course.
BIG UPDATE: The new changes in the Senate version of BBB that will cut funding for Medicaid do not apply to Medicaid non-expansion states, per sources familiar.
In those 10 states (WI, WY, KS, TX, TN, MS, AL, GA, SC, FL), provider taxes and state-directed payments will be frozen at current levels.

I mean, the grift is just SO obvious at this point...
the "made in USA" lie didn't even last two hours
Eric Trump: "Eventually all the phones can be built in the USA."

(so Trump phones are not actually being built in the USA lol ... )

TBF their actions always showed this, they're just not lying about it anymore.
This is insane. Republicans have lost their damn minds.
REP. RANDY FINE: Nuking Gaza would be a terrible idea. The fallout would drift into Israel. It would kill the hostages.

CNN: But you're not worried about killing women & children in Gaza?

FINE: War is a messy thing... Palestinianism in Gaza is on level of evil that we saw in Japan & Germany in WW2

This is actually one of the better plans I've seen. Make sure they post the articles to local social media like NextDoor, too.
Unironically they should buy up the domains for about 60 defunct local newspapers in swing states. Hire two reporters to write almost exclusively about highschool sports and new restaurants opening with every 10th article about how the local GOP is screwing over people.
NEWS:

Democratic mega-donors are debating plans to spend tens of millions of dollars on a range of influencer plans to "find the liberal Rogan."

We've got pitch decks, investor meetings, and internal docs.

One Democrat has a spreadsheet of 26 different proposals.

I expect none of this to happen, but it should.
And again, they were about 15-20 times as large as the April 2009 Tea Party protests, so I'll sit back and wait for 15-20 times as many stories from political pundits explaining that this was a decisive rebuke to the sitting president that Changes Everything.
Just to say it again, the Big Beautiful Protests (the No Kings marches) involved 5 million people and were likely the largest day of protest in America EVER. News outlets that downplay this fact, are lying.

So, it's looking like "cause a mess, put it back roughly where it was and take a victory lap" is US policy now. Lovely.

An old man doesn't need a gold plated toilet. He could be very happy with a regular toilet
he has repeated something like this so often that i have to think he is just parroting back navarro or lutnick, who almost certainly said something similar to him
Trump: "A young lady -- 10 year old girl, 9 year old girl, 15 year old girl -- doesn't need 37 dolls. She could be very happy with 2 or 3 or 4 or 5."

Maybe he should have framed it as "do you believe YOUR nursing home should have a nurse available?"

Then Oz might have understood it. He can't imagine money being spent on the ciphers that ordinary people are to him.

Fuckin' thanks, Oprah.
WYDEN: Do you believe in a nursing home there should be a registered nurse available around the clock?

DR OZ: As you know, that's a complicated question

WYDEN: No it's not. We need a nurse in a nursing home. Not too complicated.

Look, if we've learned anything this spring it's that any resistance is token if the Democratic part of the Senate is involved.
As he faces Senate confirmation, remember that Dr. Oz:

-Pushed Medicare privatization plans on his show
-Owns ~$600k in stock in private insurers
-Has ties to pyramid scheme companies that promote fake medical cures

His main qualification to oversee CMS is loyalty to Trump.

Cranking Guns & Roses at an antidrug speech is...I don't even have words for that level of irony.
Embarrassing
Trump speaks at 3p Great Hall of US Justice Dept HQ

This is a space unaccustomed to being the site of political speeches

There are packets of drugs next to podium and signs about “fighting fentanyl”

And they’re cranking Guns N Roses.. like they did at Trump campaign rallies

The Senate siding with the people that support the rich? NEVER!
I think some in the Senate have convinced themselves that the backlash to folding will be limited to “the left” and therefore ignorable.

Those people are deeply and profoundly misreading the moment and the stakes.

Virtually every swing district House Dem walked the plank to vote NO for a reason.

Yes, Putin doesn't get nearly enough of Ukraine in the current deal. Trump will get right on that.
President Vladimir Putin said that Russia supported a US proposal for a ceasefire in Ukraine in principle, but sought a number of clarifications and conditions that appeared to rule out a quick end to the fighting reut.rs/41Mnb5L
Putin suggests US ceasefire idea for Ukraine needs serious reworking
Putin said that numerous details still need to be resolved.

Funny how no one mentions what law she's violating. Apprising people of their rights isn't illegal, last I checked.

Homan will probably try to thug her, though, because...he's a thug.
Rick Scott on AOC: "It sure seems like she's violating the law ... if she's done something wrong, I hope Tom Homan does his job and prosecutes her to the full extent of the law."
