In a love-hate relationship with the Houston Cougars, the Big 12, college sports in general, and the human race.

Next Superbowl halftime should include a recreation of the confederate surrender at Appomattox while Jefferson Davis flees the scene dressed as an old lady.

Houston is one game behind Arizona for first place in the Big 12. Houston's next two games are Utah and Kansas State, the two worst teams in the conference. Arizona's are Kansas and Texas Tech.

Absolutely screaming at my TV as Fran and Boog jerk off the official for not T-ing up Kelvin for screaming at him after he missed the most obvious goaltending of all time. Just don't miss the goaltend next time! You don't get credit for missing an obvious call just bc you didn't compound it with a T

8-1 Coogs win their opener over HCU. 1 game against an outmatched team, but dont believe my hopes that this team can hit a bit are misplaced.
London Park is the 1st Cougar pitcher to start in the circle, also frosh Leilani Garcia (SS) and Ronnie Esparza (1B) are in the lineup.
The Chrissy Schoonmaker era is underway

46% of men's basketball players saying they've gotten shit from angry gamblers is insane
51% of men's college basketball players receive social media harassment over their performance, more than double any other sport, per a new NCAA survey.

Unsurprisingly, much of that is because of sports betting.

That the files aren't ending the careers of everyone named in them tells you all you need to know. That all those people aren't in jail is a clear indicator of what matters. It's a political football. There's no justice for survivors because the victims were girls and young women.
the Epstein files are really devastating because they remind me of how many girls and women miss out on professional opportunities, mentorship and careers because of how many powerful, rich and influential men only view girls and women — and interactions with them — through the lens of sex

This is not close to anything as bad as what's happening at A&M, for example, but still not a good look for Khator or UH. "Sign this promising you're not indoctrinating students" is just not something you ask anybody in good faith.

Kelvin last night: "We have a very poor athletic department. Poor when I got here and we're still poor. We probably have the lowest budget of anybody in Power Four... the way our recruiting is going, we have to stop at some point bc we don't have enough money to keep bringing really good players."

Wow! What sounded like the entire AEW Dynamite audience in Las Vegas tonight chanted "Fuck ICE! Fuck ICE!" in unison before the main event

Not the most important thing, but having noted Texan Gary Clark Jr's music in the background is a nice touch
We just dropped our Super Bowl ad.

If we’re going to take on the billionaires that have broken our political system, we need to reach everyone.

This is the time for big plays.

Looked it up, from 2:20 in the 1st half to 10:34 in the 2nd half…the Coogs didn’t miss inside the arc. 12 straight two-pointers made. Lead went from 27-15 to 56-33 in that timeframe.

There was a sizable part of me that really thought they were gonna go full-send, every GOP gerrymander is legit, all the Dem ones are invalid. So. Congrats to the US Supreme Court on doing the bare minimum for a fun change.
BREAKING: The Supreme Court will not stop the use of California's new congressional maps in this year's midterm elections.

The court rejected California Republicans' effort to stop the use of the new maps. There were no noted dissents and no opinion.

WASHINGTON (AP) — Washington Post says one-third of its staff across all departments, not just the newsroom, is being laid off.

Why are young people more skeptical of capitalism than ever? It's such a mystery.
"rich dipshit owner doesn't understand the industry he's bought into and clumsily destroys what made it good" feels less like a narrative unique to the washington post and more like the music that's been playing in the background of all our lives for at least 40 years
