A woman came in today and literally begged me to get her surgery done before the end of the year because she’s facing an insurance premium that’s tripleing in just a few weeks and she won’t be able to afford her insurance, nor her surgery, after January 1st. Thanks Republicans.

The annoying spam texts destroying the Democratic brand:

$678M raised through those spam tactics

$282M to one consulting firm: Mothership Strategies.

$11M to actual campaigns (1.6%)

The party isn’t just treating donors like marks—it’s being fleeced itself yet continues to back Mothership.

It's amazing how much clarity the New York Times has about Viktor Orban and his crackdown on LGBTQ people. If only they had it for Trump and the US. It's the exact same political strategy!

MAHA Report Appears to Plagiarize a 2023 Document Published During RFK Jr.’s Tenure at CHD
The report maintains a veneer of inquiry, but its structure and many of its claims closely mirror those of a document produced under RFK Jr.'s leadership at another organization.

They're called public records for a reason. Starting today, WIRED will *stop paywalling* articles that are primarily based on public records obtained through the Freedom of Information Act, becoming the first publication to partner with @freedom.press to offer this for our new coverage.
Wired is dropping paywalls for FOIA-based reporting. Others should follow

It costs on avg $220 to file taxes in the US.

The IRS could generate $3b a year by simply creating its own tax return portal and charging $25

So why don’t they do it?

Because TurboTax (Intuit) spends $4m/yr legally bribing US law makers, to make sure that never happens
