There are no continuous east/west bike lanes at all in Pacific Beach, nevermind safe protected ones.

This child's death is an explicit choice by San Diego city staff to prioritize traffic flow over safety.

A very dank and soggy #rutlandwater #parkrun this morning. A big well done to the 360 people who turned out to walk, jog and run - and massive thanks to our damp volunteers ❤️.

A slow one for me - knee not quite right but change of shoe helped! 👍

Nicked from Arsebook. This is a great explainer of why the UK's design and management of streets is fundamentally broken and most of what we do is simply playing around at the edges.

This is not a pop per se at Essex County Council, but given they were given a "green" rating in

Meanwhile the electronic speed limiter bill for cars was watered down to just an alert and then even that was vetoed by @governor.ca.gov because he thought being reminded to obey the law would be too onerous for car drivers.

There are thousands of fatalities caused by cars not ebikes in California.

The moral panic around ebikes is absolutely maddening when on a short ride yesterday I witnessed 3 cars running red lights and I can't walk anywhere in San Diego without being almost hit by a car driver running a stop sign while staring down at their phone.

I hope you understand that e-bikes are not e-motos, even though they all get lumped together.

Also I am surprised you don’t understand how many people are killed and maimed by cars every year in CA? What are you doing to address that?

Renee Nicole Good wasn’t murdered because she was resisting.

She wasn’t murdered because she was a threat.

She was murdered because she was a woman and she wasn’t afraid.

She was murdered because ICE knew he could get away with it.

Misogyny and bigotry are built into the system:
Misogyny, Murder and Renee Nicole Good
It's been a week since we watched an ICE agent shoot and kill Renee Nicole Good and then mutter "f*cking b*tch" at her. It's time we talk about the misogyny that's baked into ICE enforcement.

BBC report at a headline level that Grok will now not make sexually exploitative images any more. An actual reporter comes on and explains that it will do no such thing, and will just make the images invisible in the UK. These are two very, very different things.

There are some who say we don’t consult on our newest Low Traffic Neighbourhoods.

If that’s the case, it’s worth taking a look at the West Ham LTN engagement report.

LTNs are, and should be treated as, a public health measure. Councils should concentrate on evidence of harm reduction & its clear communication because no amount of consultation satisfies ardent opponents.
