A 20-year reflection on women in rheumatology - Nature Reviews Rheumatology
The collective priorities of the rheumatology field represent the lived experience, and therefore diversity of its members. The ‘mould’ of rheumatology, that is, its culture, structures and expectations, was not created for or by women, but women have slowly changed this mould to make space for diverse perspectives.

An important day of remembrance — not just for the USA 🇺🇸 but for all of us around the world 🌍.

I was at Yale last year on 9/11 and was deeply moved by how they marked the occasion.

#911Memorial reminds us of the value of unity, resilience, and compassion in the face of tragedy
Today, we remember and honor the lives lost on 9/11. Let us never forget the heroes who emerged in the face of tragedy and the resilience of a nation united in hope and strength. #NeverForget #911Memorial

How to do differential expression with scRNAseq data? State of the art is "pseudo-bulk" analysis with RNA-seq methods like edgeR or DESeq2, where "cell type" is encoded as discrete categories. Biologically, discrete categories are not always the most appropriate concept.(1/3)

Heidelberg is indeed beautiful - I did a bioinformatics secondment in GSK Heidelberg during my PhD - lovely people and the Philosopher's walk was enchanting!
Back home after a fab afternoon at the Weihnachtsmarkt in Heidelberg. Heard many American accents while there, as well as other English-speakers. Clearly a popular town with the tourists, as well as being a university town. Came home with two new mugs and a few other bits and pieces. 🎅🍻🎄🇩🇪
