I know I'm over a decade out of educational settings now but when I was taught business management, "Happy Employees will result in happier customers" does not mean forcing your employees to be happy.
It means providing for their needs with a suitable salary & benefits so that they can BE happy.

They also must make eye contact with and wave to or greet the customer.
If they’re within four feet, the employee should ask how the customer’s day is going or if they need help."

In Texas 9th SD, Democrat Taylor Rehmet is leading three candidates-including Leigh Wambsganss, a well-known Christian nationalist activist who was supported by Trump, Texas GOP leaders and far-right donor Tim Dunn. The district includes Tarrant County, a +5% Trump county + bellwether for the state.
