There is a 98% chance I would invite Nate Silver to snort my taint (margin or error 4-5%
but Nate Silver said if you don't denounce it within 48 hours then you can't vote Democrat in 2028!!!!

Just got “Paris, Texas” on glorious 4K. One of my favorite movies. A German director (Wim Wenders) takes on a Sam Shepherd script for a moving exploration of memory and regret. A beautiful outsider’s perspective on the American myth. ❤️

Well. Times change, don't they? Just seen this ad for Scrooged with the cigar digitally removed so Bill Murray now looks unexpectedly camp.

Biden has the power to do the right — and Catholic — thing and stop the federal death penalty from being enacted on 40 different people.

Use resistbot to demand he do the right thing.

Again, there are 40 men currently on federal death row, a number of whom will certainly be executed under Trump, whose sentences Biden has the power to commute.

Make sure he knows they're waiting to hear from him, too.

Yep. Biden, wanting to Uphold the Norms, agreed to keep on a Trump-appointed prosecutor who was probing his son. Created a special counsel to probe his own post-VP document retention. Kept on Durham so he could finish a Trump-ordered probe of 2016.

What did he get? Nothing. So here he goes.

With all respect to OP, this feels like the "only Republicans have agency" theory of politics.

Biden operates in the same world where Trump handed pardons to all sorts of crooks who supported him. He lowered the bar before Biden walked in; Biden just didn't take advantage until now.

Many people getting upset about this are the same people who downplayed Trump at every turn and are now desperate for us to continually buy into their “both sides” BS. If I’m not supposed to care about Trump’s depravity, why am I supposed to care about this?

All of these things can be true:
- Hunter Biden broke the law.
- Hunter Biden traded on his last name to make money.
- Hunter Biden’s actions were exploited and wildly exaggerated by unscrupulous Republicans in an effort to damage his father.

A “breezy” comedy/drama about two Polish-American Jewish cousins on a packaged Holocaust tour. It’s a movie whose surface runs calm, but the torrential currents of generational trauma are always roiling underneath, about to erupt. Should we always hold on to pain if moving on means ignoring it?

Trump is good for comedy in the same way that I’m sure the passengers’ cries for help occasionally harmonized with the Titanic quartet

I know there's a lot going on but it's worth noting Senate Dems are quietly plowing ahead with judicial confirmations + will vote Thursday to confirm David Huitema to be director of the Office of Government Ethics for 5 years.

We could probably use someone in that role.

The cruise ship nature of the NC-1701 D (w/ that calming hum on the ship’s engine) was the soundtrack to a somewhat tumultuous childhood. While DS9 is my all-time fave show, Starfleet’s flagship had me at hello.
