Just got “Paris, Texas” on glorious 4K. One of my favorite movies. A German director (Wim Wenders) takes on a Sam Shepherd script for a moving exploration of memory and regret. A beautiful outsider’s perspective on the American myth. ❤️

A “breezy” comedy/drama about two Polish-American Jewish cousins on a packaged Holocaust tour. It’s a movie whose surface runs calm, but the torrential currents of generational trauma are always roiling underneath, about to erupt. Should we always hold on to pain if moving on means ignoring it?
