We still need to talk about how Congress approved more flights in and out of DCA in 2024, because they prioritized personal convenience over overall safety.
Breaking news: Investigators found the deadly collision above DCA last January between a commercial jet and a U.S. Army helicopter was “100 percent preventable,” the head of the National Transportation Safety Board said.
FAA ignored warnings before DCA crash, federal investigators say
Families hope the nearly year-long probe by the National Transportation Safety Board will promote aviation safety changes.

On a whim, I decided to take a culinary nutrition course this semester. I figured, I'm cooking more for others, so why not try to be healthy about it?

HF, I have to deal with this fucked up new food pyramid and all the BS coming from .gov websites like they are the gospel and no, just no.

Who created the fire and therefore the ashes, John? You need to sit tf down, Mr. torture memo dude.
International law no longer serves as an instrument of global stability—and the U.S. should use this moment to argue for a different approach to the rules of war, John Yoo argues.
A New International Law Can Rise From the Ashes
The United States should use this moment to argue for a different approach to the rules of war.

For decades, we have not had or created laws that would define or make illegal domestic terrorism. Sure, we could charge people with other crimes for their acts, but one party, specifically, ran away from this because the majority of crimes would be labeled right wing terrorism.

Who wants to start a co-living setup with me?

Downside is it’s in TN.
"The Bridges" has 28 cabins, a restaurant, a general store, miles of trails. But they had me at "caves." #FridayNightZillow

On other, happier news, this girl became mine tonight.

She was my neighbor’s but kept escaping to my house. We tried co-parenting for a while but that didn’t work out.

Meet Lucy!

Hope he remembers this when a Kavanaugh stop comes for him.

A basic knowledge of civics should be a requirement to hold office.
When an ICE agent confronts you is "when your due process ends," says the member of Congress from the largest border district.

Not allowed to say bad things about the America of the past, ya know, like the reason we fought a civil war about.

New bootleg Gourmet? Sign me up.

That magazine has a special place in my heart because it showed me that I could aim higher after growing up in a non-cooking home. It taught me to cook when I moved out for college; wish I'd saved all those issues.

The logo needs work tho

“I've been here 24 hours, but already with what I've seen, well, I genuinely believe we're going to win.”

Important thread:
I came to Minneapolis to report on what's going on, and one of the main questions I showed up with is "just what is the scale of the resistance?" After all, we're all used to the news calling Portland a "war zone" or whatever when it's just some protests in one part of town.

While we are on plane/death watch, I’d like to reassert my plea to to do the vocals for anyone willing to do a Cole Porter and Irving Berlin new cover album.

It’s been too long and most streaming services have shit versions.

Didn't lift them up from poverty, simply decided to let them starve.

GOP: Fuck them kids
Trump: "We lifted more than 1.2 million Americans off food stamps in one year. They would've had another 1.2 million. Welfare would've gone up."

My never-worked-a-day-in-her-life, while living in La Jolla, fox-brained Boomer aunt now says the Somalians are taking over her hometown, Glendale. She hasn't been there for 20 years, since her dad died, but she's so sure.

JFC, I'm tired and so grateful that her twin sister is normal.

If you’re raison d'être is likes, you really suck at it.
A tale of three apps. Identical post sent at the same time:

Twitter: 136,000 likes, 20,000 shares

Threads: 46,000 likes, 4,000 ahares

Bluesky: 149 likes, 45 shares

To be clear, I have 60k followers on Twitter, 15k on Bluesky, but only 7k on Threads.

I love Bluesky, but this isn't sustainable.

A lot of Conservatives have an ideal of how the world should be, and often it is only how the world looked to them when they were twelve.

Old enough to know of the wider world, but young enough to not be aware of any of the systems that shaped that world, and miss the complexity of what they saw.
