I understand the financial need to graduate in 4 years...but I see so many students who take 5-6 classes, work multiple jobs (to afford said classes), and have familial responsibilities. Of course its going to be difficult to manage the time and the work.

Zohran Mamdani has made history—New York City has elected its first Muslim, socialist mayor.

@emanabdelhadi.bsky.social reflects on what this moment means for working-class New Yorkers, for Muslims, and for the city itself.
Zohran Mamdani Wins and It Is a Celebration of My New York

I don't see a lot of people talking about this, so I want to highlight something GOOD

Billie Eilish stood in a room full of billionaires and said "you're billionaires... Why?"

She donated 11.5 MILLION DOLLARS to food equity and climate orgs, which Stephen Colbert announced to said billionaires.

Kristi Noem is flat-out lying when she claims no U.S. citizen has been arrested in her violent crackdown. Do a web search on “immigration citizen arrested” and you’ll see. Here’s one of the many documented reports we found.

Can't tell if this dread and anxiety are from politics, the exhaustion of US parenting, middle-of-the-semester scaries, missing promised writing deadlines, or from trying to keep my sanity through this all 🫠

My non-white friends' conversations this weekend. Talking about how terrifying it is to be seen as a "fuuhreignnerrr" in 2025.
This is why the inflatable costumes works so well -- it works the same way calling them "weird" or "creepy" did. It disrupts their narrative, and makes them seem pathetic rather than cool-and-cruel.
You need to see this:

Randomly remembering how a grad school classmate would loudly eat their meal in class *and* put their feet up on their seat in class (while everyone was sitting in a circle). Another classmate had one earphone in their ear during class and watching a TV show on their laptop.

Grading my students' video posts. One of my students had a tuxedo cat just hanging out on his shoulder like a parrot. I jokingly told him that he'd get extra points because of the cat. At the end of the video, the student made a point and the cat gave him a dubious look 😂

This is more like the types of raid the American military carried out in Baghdad and Fallujah. This is not normal policing but the actions of a terror state.

ER doc here! This is a lie. Wait times are up because the American healthcare system is an unsustainable business model and a for-profit national healthcare system just doesn’t work. These problems will continue to get worse until we change that system. It literally has nothing to do with immigrants
Vance: "If you're an American citizen & you've been to the hospital in the last few years, you've probably noticed wait times are especially large & very often somebody who's there in the ER is an illegal alien. Why do those people get healthcare benefits at hospitals paid for by American citizens?"
