In Donkey Kong Country 2, it is possible to trap Diddy Kong in a state of eternal horror. Hitting K. Rool with a team-up throw in a specific manner will cause Diddy's eyes to pop out in shock; however, he will never recover and stay in this state until the game is reset.

Do you ever divide a game mentally into 'arcs' like dragon ball
like, Pokemon Sapphire has a Norman Arc where fighting your dad is the end objective, then a Team Aqua Arc as the villain team plot ramps up to the Kyogre climax, and finally a Champion arc where the Hoenn League becomes the final goal
