I was in Jakarta recently talking to sins young people and one of them said “we don’t even use search anymore, we use Char GPT”. It’s good that we are having conversations about environmental impact in the West but there’s a generational shift in the global majority that needs attention

I’ve met a tonne of young people this year in Mexico, Indonesia and across Africa for whom the idea is that Chat GPT is just the next generation of search/the internet. Even while unprecedented climate shifts are at their doorstep. More than 1000 people have died in Indonesia because of flooding.
