If you are okay with this, if you think this is justified, if you think people living on the street have brought this upon themselves, if you think this is good leadership, you may be able to fool yourself that you care about others but you don’t fool me

There is a core thrust of reactionary politics that promotes escapism as a tool of disarmament. They have made the world so hard none of us want to live in it. But this world is worth fighting for, too.

Finally others are pointing this out; I've long been disillusioned with mutual aid as conceived of online because it is not rooted in community and thus not "mutual". We need to build systems of mutual support, not just engaging in acts of charity and calling it praxis
I say this delicately, knowing that it is the only option for some folks, but mutual aid becoming a hyper-individualistic online thing instead of being centered around local communities and organizations has really left a system open to fraud and abuse and it kinda sucks.
feels like half the people on this website right now are doing the spiders men meme pointing at each other, going “no scam, you’re the scam”

when you look into the spiders men, they look also into you

The hill I will die on is that many TTRPG creators don't hire editors and it shows. Please, at least a proofreader.

So I got home from The Boy & The Heron about an hour ago, and god is this movie so good. Potentially a top 10 all-timer for me. Stunning visuals, captivating world, subtly political, and powerful themes of grief, acceptance, and creation
