Trump has ordered a massive military buildup in the Caribbean.

After months of lethal strikes at sea, Trump is threatening to expand this illegal unauthorized war to Venezuela.

We don’t need another war. We need health care for all.

So it turns out... the US air travel system was incredibly, deeply dependent on federal funding to just run day-to-day all this time, to the benefit of private airline shareholders, when everyone thinks that state-run trains are leeching off the government. Weird!

There were some periods growing up where we relied on SNAP among other programs. I often tell a story about how foodstamps weren’t enough to buy ingredients for my mom to bake me a birthday cake. I was probably 9 or 10 years old.

This makes me very rationally angry.
Food stamps are used overwhelming by people near the poverty line to feed young and old. When they end tomorrow, it will be devastating for millions of the most vulnerable in society.

So obviously far-right influencers are using this to push racist disinformation

No, SNAP Benefits Aren’t Mostly Used by Immigrants
SNAP benefits are set to run out on Saturday. Far-right influencers and extremists are incorrectly claiming that immigrants are the main recipients of food stamps.

After a few years in a sales engineer role where I had to present talking points and the value story of a product and weave it into a narrative while doing objections handling and fielding tech questions, you’re dead on. I knew the product as an engineer, couldn’t sell worth a damn at first.
Seeing a lot of negative response to the initial post along the lines of "you don't need to know how to perform if you're saying something you actually believe in" and I strongly disagree with this idea and think that it's a dangerous myth to believe!

You mean to tell me that giving billionaires and corporate entities all the gains from 50 years of technological advancement was a mistake? Huh.
Despite huge advancements in technology & worker productivity since the 1970s, wages for American workers have remained stagnant and almost all new wealth has gone to the people on top.

Will it be any different with AI and robotics?

I don’t think so. Maybe even worse.

I wish I could vote for the version of the Democrats that Republicans think exists.
Quick, someone poll the 4 things in this scary, scary agenda.
Thune: "If the Democrats had won the majority, they probably would've tried to nuke the filibuster. And then you'd have four new senators from Puerto Rico and DC, you'd have a packed Supreme Court, you'd have abortion on demand ... "

Not to pat myself on the back too hard, but given the state of the open internet and just… everything… I felt it was important to increase my contribution to @wikipedia.org to $5/mo. If you can afford a few dollars, I think access to open information is more important now than ever.

Most US adults don’t have the education to understand income inequality, addiction and a lack of a social safety net because billionaires own all the mass media*

Fixed it.

• It’ll definitely be pricier.
• And the Grinch’s name might be President Donald Trump.

Merry Christmas, folks. 🎄🎅

I hate this. As an independent platform, Roku should be the ideal media player, unencumbered by ties to a media property. But they’ve toyed with media plays of their own as well as enshittification through ads. I paid for the device. Please. Stop. The line doesn’t always have to go up.

If Jesus had focused more on kitchen table issues and less on unpopular outcasts like lepers and prostitutes, he might have won more support from white working-class Judeans.
