Always a joy to join the Matts, especially something like Death Ship which has a lot more going on than practical effects, haunted boats, and Nazi ghosts. There is deep intentionally to why there is so much suffering in DEATH SHIP that goes beyond many haunted or even horror movies in general.
Do we need exploitation cinema to remind us of half-forgotten, real-life horrors? That’s the big question in this week’s episode with @harmonycolangelo.bsky.social, who joins the podcast to talk about ghost Nazis and DEATH SHIP.
Podcast: Harmony Colangelo on 'Death Ship' - Certified Forgotten
Harmony Colangelo joins Certified Forgotten to discuss Alvin Rakoff's 'Death Ship,' a Nazi-sploitation feature with surprisingly sharp teeth.

In time for Valentine's Day on Shudder is the science-freaky horror romance, HONEY BUNCH.

Made by the couple behind Violation, starring another couple (Grace Glowicki and Ben Petrie), it's a strange brew of marital "bliss" and captivating intimacy.

I liked it! More at @dailydead.bsky.social.

Out this week is COLD STORAGE—an icky, ooey-gooey outbreak thriller with delightfully chaotic vibes.

It's fun! Held back at times by unmemorable digital effects, but that's a budget and timing issue. David Koepp's adapted screenplay is a blast, and the gross-out laughs are infectious.

If there's one movie I hope audiences support in theaters this weekend, it's GOOD LUCK, HAVE FUN, DON'T DIE.

Gore Verbinski is back with a vengeance. It's not only a blast, but contains some really poignant and oh-so-dark commentaries about A.I. that hit like a haymaker.

Really happy SWEETNESS is finally getting released (this weekend).

Works as a Gen Z take on Misery with a pop idol, and star Kate Hallett runs away with her role as an obsessed, unpredictable fangirl.
'Sweetness' Review: Thrills in a Candy-Coated Psychotic Shell

Watching the commercials used to be as big an event as the game itself.

The Super Bowl hasn’t been the same event since they started spoiling all the commercial surprises.

Karl Strauss is bringing them back (or trying), and was lucky to have a friend send some to try while I unpack. Cherry Cola a forever favorite flavor.
