Just wow.
IDK if others clocked this (I was out of town) but the Seattle City Council voted last week to force the incoming Wilson Administration to spend $30 million on the encampment-sweeping "Unified Care Team" next year. This is a top priority for the current mayor, who just lost to Katie Wilson.

Wow, a progressive mayor in Seattle. I mean, I could have done without the 8 day wait for the results but fuck it, I’ll take it. I hope she goes hard af after what happened to McGinn.
I mean, the race was obviously over after Monday's ballot drop, but whatever.

My takeaway from every new Epstein revelation is that some powerful people victimized many powerless young women, many more knew, some actively enabled it--and we're still being told that MeToo and accountability for sexual violence have gone too far

🚨🚨 Just in: Katie Wilson has expanded her lead in the Seattle mayor race. She is now leading by 1,976 votes, which means that the race is no longer in automatic recount territory.

Wilson just barely squeaking by a guy whose niece left his staff because it was such a toxic boys club is really something.
Seattle's Mamdani is winning by an absurdly small margin over our incumbent mayor, who once pulled a gun on a pregnant woman in a parking lot.

Vote in your local elections!

When people talk about the excesses of MeToo, they have to lie, because the reality is that there was no massive social reckoning forcing people to believe survivors or hold perpetrators accountable. In fact, there has been a significant backsliding and new punishments in rejection of MeToo

I’m printing this so I can rub it for good luck until Wilson is declared the winner
Last primary election night, Wilson had 46 percent; she ended up with 51 points to Harrell's 41. She can still close the gap.

US friends, please go vote today in local elections (I voted early by mail already). Fewer people turnout in smaller elections so your engagement really matters.

This fearmongering drives me nuts. The fact that a food is or is not processed does not make the food healthy or unhealthy. Just ridiculous way to shame people for eating the food that they can afford and have the time to prepare. Don't buy into it
"Sandwiches, including burgers, contributed the most calories..."

Sandwiches and burgers are not ultra-processed! I am losing my mind.
