We didn’t need all these biographical Willy Wonka movies about who he is as a person. In the older versions, he’s obviously God or the Devil. You’re supposed to spend the entire story wondering which one and gradually become worried they’re the same being

pre-writing a devastating obituary for your enemy is god-tier hating of a kind you don’t often see anymore. renaissance haterism. beautiful stuff.
A Sharon Begley byline, almost 5 years after her death.
Upon hearing the news James Watson had died, a STAT reporter said in our Slack, "I wish I could read what Sharon would have written."
Incredible news: Sharon in fact did pre-write a Watson obit. And it is masterful and excoriating.

The medical community in Indy has, for a long time, been quietly exploring really interesting ways of fighting maternal mortality. I benefited from a lot of pilot programs when I was pregnant due to living in a target neighborhood.
The city is launching a program to give 100 families $20K over the course of their birth journeys — no strings attached.
