Y'all, the hospital where I had my surgery is running trials to see if GLP-1 medications can help people suffering from long COVID. It's open to any person with documented long COVID who lives in the US.

Please pass it on!

Marches & rallies can be inspiring & build community, but they alone are not enough. Two ideas for those who are ready to do more:
@votefwd.bsky.social
@5calls.org
Also, both are good options for people who can't attend group events for health or other reasons.

In social movement studies, we talk about how marches and protests expand the threshold of acceptable risk so that people take more and bigger social risks IN PUBLIC, EN MASSE. This is extremely important for the bourgeois white folks holding signs and building social rapport.
Not a shitpost: #NoKings is feel-good performative activism for comfortable mostly upper and upper middle class white folks and that’s good, actually. Millions of people in the streets protesting a fascist regime is good. It is good for the normie baseline to be massive displays of public dissent.

What we’re witnessing from this Administration goes beyond political disagreement; it’s a troubling disregard for the rule of law.

#NoKingsDay2.0 is important -- be there! But we can't just wait for those huge events that others initiate. Before and after Oct 18, do other actions -- small or large, alone or with others. We must be persistent and consistent!

I’m about to board my flight to El Salvador, where I hope to meet with senior government officials to discuss the return of Kilmar Abrego Garcia.

I also hope to see Kilmar and check on his condition — and remind him that we won’t stop fighting until he’s home.

Trump: Gutting National Parks—And Hiding the Evidence

National parks hit 331M visits, but Trump officials don’t want you to know. A leaked memo bans the Park Service from promoting the numbers—while firing rangers, closing visitor centers, and cutting safety.

This won’t go well—we love our parks.

Trump and Vance act as if the problem is that Ukraine is resisting an ongoing Russian invasion. The problem is the ongoing Russian invasion. If they want to use American power to stop the war, apply it to the aggressor. Abusing the victim is not going to end a war of aggression.

That's some fucking bullshit.
