Alex Pretti was a colleague at the VA. We hired him to recruit for our trial. He became an ICU nurse- I lover working with him. He was a good kind person who lived to help and these fuckers executed him.

The newest video shows very clearly that they attacked him for coming to an aid of a woman that the agents pushed, and then executed him while he was immobilized. Everything the government has said, like with Good, has been a complete lie.

Friendly reminder that evangelical publishing was obsessed with Corrie Ten Boom and taught a bunch of us evangelical kids to stand up to the Nazis . . . but one of the most important parts of her story was that she ended up forgiving one of her concentration camp guards just like God did.

Slightly tangential to your point, but my parents helped me purchase a lot of these books as a teen and knew I was passionate about the topic... And yet now they're surprised and disappointed I'm pushing back against authoritarianism.

In one of my many White Rose books (see below), the author muses over the resistance members' motives, and concludes that "they were fundamentally decent people" and that has always stuck with me. They weren't necessarily extraordinary, they just acted on their consciences!

I keep doing my work because I know in my bones one day everyone -- or almost everyone -- will view American evangelicals similar to how we view Nazi party members. The weird part about right now is I am watching the shift happen in real time. None of us are going to forget who got Trump into power.

The fact that so many predicted this would fail will never stop being funny to me
The saddest thing I have discovered while researching white evangelical parenting methods is that it conditions children to grow into adults who will not stand up to bullies. This is because our parents become our first dictators, punishing us with pain and declaring control to be loving.
