My wife doesn't care about football, but during the game she baked an apple spice cake from scratch, made fresh whipped cream, and it finished baking in the 4th quarter, so I got to eat it to celebrate when we won, and it was glorious.

Saw Hamnet yesterday and we need a moratorium on "On the Nature of Daylight". Arrival not only used it best and most memorably, but for scenes dealing with the same themes as the useage in Hamnet (loss of a child).

I continue to be grateful that my evangelical dad died before going full MAGA. It was probably inevitable, and I would be dreading to see him share his thoughts on the events of this week. He died still having a sense of humanity. MAGA sloughed that off long ago.
