i used to say social media is my house:
twitter, the front porch
instagram, the windows
facebook, the living room

now that things have changed:
🚫 twitter/x, dead by hoa rules
🏠 bluesky, new front porch
🪟 instagram, still the windows
📝 threads, the yard signs
🚫 left fb in 2016, so no visitors
funny how i could smell what was going to happen more than 7 months ago…

also, the rounding you did in 1st grade is what’s holding you back from bliss —and penny equity!

and by you, i mean americans.
if we got rid of the penny, would americans adopt the öre rounding guides, too? and would americans be able to understand it? 😬

most expensive trip to safeway this year was today w/ their in-store car tag renewal kiosk —not just the $605 renewal, but also a $4 convenience fee for doing it myself (wtf lol) and a card processing fee of 2.25% (even if there is no other allowed form of payment).

but no food tho lol

so where are the names?
who fkg cares about a half-baked cone to jesus
MTG tells the Times that when she threatened to expose the men who abused Epstein’s victims, Trump called to scream at her.

“My friends will get hurt,” he said.

This shouldn’t surprise anyone, but it’s still shocking to read.

Maybe don’t be friends with pedos, just saying

this change was recoded in the federal register last month so postmarks no longer necessarily occur on the date you drop your mail in a mailbox even within pickup time!

🗣️ YOUR MAIL IN BALLOT COULD BE LATE AND DISQUALIFIED!

www.npr.org/2025/10/23/n...
Your ballot or other mail may not get postmarked by USPS the day it's dropped off
Close to a deadline for mailing your ballot, tax return or legal document? To make sure it gets a postmark on time under the latest USPS changes, you may want to send it early or visit a post office.

hm. so nvidia now is around the 3rd largest shareholder of intel stock behind only blackrock and large mutual funds.

and ftc approved the purchase. i'd say this is a soft takeover.

maybe the KKR-style hostile takeovers of my day have turned into millennial-style soft takeovers of the 2020s lol

TIL toronto w/ its so-called line 5 crosstown metro extension having outspent honolulu’s rail by nearly double ($1.5bn/mi vs hnl’s $700k/mi) has been under construction for 10 yrs and is still not open.

they’re only building a total track of hnl’s already-open phase 1 youtu.be/e8mLZ7EE81I?...

funny… i feel like genX called it being needy, millennials called it narcissism, and the next generation calls it main character syndrome

it’s like we keep getting better at identifying it, but each successive pile on wants to rename it

that’s the first japan food place that’s a hole in the wall that’s not inexpensive haha (relative to all the content of americans trying to say how cheap things are because of exchange rates).

this edo-style tendon place in asakusa charges ¥3800 for a large bowl of shrimp, kabocha, and fish.

do you keep people as friends who ask you to explain punch lines?

🤔

bingeing a show that's interesting to watch not for its intended content, but to see how a millennial business owner runs his business and manages genY and genZ staff

there are no rules and half the time is spent managing (and yelling about) unspoken expectations.

meanwhile who's surprised?

reminds me of john mayer's lyrics…

And when you trust your television
What you get is what you got
Cause when they own the information, oh
They can bend it all they want
Anyone paying even the slightest bit of attention could see that was happening.

there’s no such thing as comparing “apples to apples” but a 6-mile underground extension with 4 stations onto an existing BART line costing $5 billion makes honolulu’s rail project from the ground up costing only $12 billion for 21 miles and 20 stations seem like beans

do people who love a slot machine and other gaming realise in 5 days their losses will only offset 90% of taxes on their winnings rather than the up to 100% they could offset? — all thanks to the republican spending bill passed (and signed into law) earlier this year

people take pics like they write, meaning their ability to drive context is so nonexistent, no one can tell what the fuck they’re trying to convey…

because who else thinks this looks like a closeup of rotten teeth? ew haha

is this the time for remote places like hawaii to shine?

can they build desalination plants for potable water *AND* create an extension of the process for sodium harvesting for this kind of production?

“Sodium is nearly 50 times cheaper than lithium and can even be harvested from seawater”

im not sure why, but these aloha shirts have been on sale for the past 6 months and inventory seemingly hasn't gone down; and they continue to be on discount, so i wonder... is it because younger folks in hawaii are not interested in these designs?

i'd wear them. is that proof i'm old? lol

i know of several generous credit unions who are closed today giving their employees five days off for christmas.

and no, there are no federal regulations requiring a financial institution to remain open after a certain number of days closed or one preventing the closure for any number of days.
