Hiya folks! For new people here's the big project we have been working on in Panamá!
The Mothbox!

It's a fully #opensource insect camera trap with loads of documentation to build the whole thing yourself from off the shelf parts!

Every couple of years every hacker finds themselves making some kind of rubbery #buttplug thing. That's just kinda how it is.

I made an #opensource* model of some rubbery zip ties that have been coming in handy!

*not fully opensource because I said in the post that Josef Prusa isn't allowed to use them.

This micromoth from Ecuador (Struthoscelis semiotarsa) is the epitome of 'kawaii'. Large head with emerald green eyes, long antennae, short forelimbs, fancy hindlimbs, and fluff. It also moved in a very cute way. It cannot use the hindlegs for walking, so it drags them behind like a dragon's tail.

Hhahahah yeah @thea.codes nails it, there's not really anything there that automatic copyright doesn't just do
Inspired by Prusa's new license "for the maker community", OCL, I'm introducing it's long-awaited sequel, SOCL!

Like Hollow Knight Silksong, it promises to be an improvement over its prequel in every way.

Looking forward to community adoption and feedback!

So reindeer (Rangifer tarandus) can't fly, but they are VERY MAGICAL.

For example, their EYES CHANGE COLOR during the year & they're one of the few large mammals that can see UV. Golden brown in summer, deep blue in winter.

Let's talk about the unique visual adaptations of Rudolph and company.

In the Mario Party series, an item's name was changed from "Cursed Dice Block" to "Creepy Dice Block". While it may appear to be an unnecessary change to make it more "family-friendly", it is actually an effective localization of the original Japanese name's double meaning.

Moths Seen Drinking Moose Tears for the First Time Ever
Moths sometimes drink the tears of other animals, but the behavior has mostly been observed in the tropics. New photographs show only the second observation outside of that area

White men are 30% of the US and if they look around the room and see it’s less than 90% white men they think it’s affirmative action.
85% of CEOs are white men.

All but one US President has been a white man.

65% of all elected offices are held by white men.

Roughly 30% of the population is white men.

WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS TOPIC EVEN???

I really wish Prusa had tried to work with OSI, CC, and/or OSHWA instead of greenfielding a new license.

Even if the principle behind this license wasn't misguided, I don't think it's precise enough to legally accomplish any of the goals Prusa stated.

Please don't use this.
We're open-sourcing the full CAD files of the CORE One and CORE One L, released under a new license we built for the maker community. Read more about it in Josef's new article: blog.prusa3d.com/core-one-cad...

Hilarious to be so scared of open sourcing things (yet still desperate to openwash) that you have to make up your own imaginary license to pretend you are still open sourcing things.
