If you are wondering what happened in Indonesia yesterday, this is the whole summary. I don't care if you dislike politics, but it's about humanity. It would be greatly appreciated if my English speaker friends here try to educate themselves and share this as a form of spreading more awareness.

You'd think someone who writes about legal matters so often would know this isn't true. Schumer's reason was kinda true but also not 100% honest.
Trump gets to decide what gets shut down. And Schumer explicitly listed the courts as one of the reasons.

So yeah, that would have given DOJ a way to hold off AEA litigation for the 48 hours they wanted.

Not sure how blame for a government shutdown will fall?

If this CR doesn't pass, Donald Trump will immediately FLY TO FLORIDA FOR A WEEKEND OF GOLF.

Help me figure that one out, pricey political consultants!

A Minnesotan who worked for the federal government was fired, rehired and then fired again within a span of two weeks.
Dozens of Minnesota federal workers fired in latest cuts, with no severance
The Minnesota Star Tribune talked to roughly two dozen workers who all said they were not the only ones in their departments to be cut.

2 draft dodgers…Trump,(bone spurs) & Musk, (mom’s Canada connection) have audacity to slash veterans services. They have ZERO connection to these Americans, who put their lives on the line for something bigger than themselves. Every veteran, MAGA or not, needs to protest.

Gotta say I think saving democracy is more important than some dumb trade war Trump is about to launch. Can't stop the war if he destroys democracy.
When you’re in line at the supermarket next week and prices have gone up, you’ll know who to blame:

Donald Trump and his tariffs.

Dems can't oppose worth shit. This is just pathetic.
That's right - we should cut government waste.

But we're seeing Trump and Musk's plan in action: pausing federal funds that rip school lunch away from preschoolers and end Meals on Wheels for seniors. That's not efficiency, it's cruelty.

I have better ideas.

The remote work debate was funny because it forced the question "Is a job something valuable you do or is it a place you go to be watched like daycare" and the answer for a lot of them was yeah it's the daycare thing now come on inside recess is over

No, he's not. Trump is being a dick, that's it.
Trump is doing what you do after you acquire a company. Crazy I know. But reality. The Dir of NIH should reach out to DOGE and offer to bring them in to remove inefficiencies.

There are always some and the Director know what they are.

DOGE gets a win. NIH gets back to work.

Time for some bribes and corruption! And God knows what else.
1. BREAKING

The White House late Friday fired the independent inspectors general of at least 12 major federal agencies in a purge that could clear the way for President Trump to install loyalists in the crucial role of identifying fraud, waste and abuse in the government.

More from inside NIH:

Per a source with knowledge, for all internal research (of which there is like $10 billion worth or so), ALL purchasing shut down as of yesterday.

That means gloves, reagents, anything involved with lab work, which means a lot of that work will stop.
