Well there are venues like Wolf Trap, but I am sure her refusal is a more recent development and not a life-long one. Her daughter worked in the WH during Trump 1.0 and I wouldn't be surprised if she thought all was ok then.

Because it is scary! And dangerous! But honestly, she grew up there and never left. Married a dude with a business in Alexandria. She probably would have moved further out from DC otherwise.

My cousin is a die hard Republican in Arlington. I doubt she thinks her neighbors want to do anything to her or her family. She just thinks us white yuppie libs are dupes and naive about the "dangerous" cities. She also refuses to go into DC.
