Friday night musing... this may sound odd, but when the word "homeland" started appearing in U.S. legislation and then "Homeland Security" became official after 9/11, I had a bad feeling. It smacked too much of the man with the moustache who used it frequently. I think my gut was right. #uspoli

Any other figure skating fans watch the men's free skate in the #Olympics today? Lots of unexpected moments with an unlikely Kazackh skater taking the Gold. I must say, though, as a long-time fan, I wish they hadn't changed the rule to allow singing in the music they're skating to. Opinions?

It was a move that showed weakness rather than strength, suggested one party member from Alberta. "To narrowly constrain it to a very small subset of individuals, I think is a not reflective of the organization that the Conservative Party should be if it hopes to govern this country," he told the Star. There were few Quebec or Atlantic delegates. And although there was no concerted campaign to push Poilievre out the door, some Conservatives spent thousands of dollars to show up to vote their disapproval.
