my great-grandmother died from breast cancer in 1929. she was 41, the mother of 3 children. my grandma lost her mom at 7 years old and her childhood was very painful as a result. she was later diagnosed, then my mom, then me at age 32. i am fortunately very much alive, thanks to science.
