Dichroma is an Alt-metal act with big dreams and no sense of urgency.

Ok. Since a lot of us are new here and people may not have been aware of us on other social media, Dichroma is for lack of a better word, 'alt-metal' with influences that range from traditional metal, thrash, industrial, progressive and alternative.

Might change the band name to the 'Defttwos' or 'Deftthrees'.

No one told me that the Wicker Man (1973) was a musical.

What a way to discover my favourite Sneaker Pimps song is a cover though.

Had a dream last night that Alex Lifeson called and asked me if I wanted to be back-up guitarist on the forthcoming Rush tour. Which is weird because A) I don't know him, and B) aside from Red Sector A, I also can't play any of their songs straight through.

I did a survey today on AI generated music, where they asked after playing snippets of several songs which ones were AI -- and I got them all correct.

Maybe someday I'll be good enough to do this all the time.
Since I've been doing some practice and experimenting with mixing techniques in the last few weeks, I've reposted this song on Bandcamp which now sounds a heck of a lot better sonically.

Saw Garbage last night, and they were great. Maybe a little too reliant on the backing tracks, but Shirley knows how to work a crowd.

Well, everyone else it doing it, so why not?
Appropos of nothing, it seemed prudent to re-post this today of all days. #BandcampFridays
This Friday, August 25th will see the release of 'Than To Curse the Darkness' by Spoon Hammer on Bandcamp and streaming.

The material aims to shine a light in these times of darkness. Aww, who am I kidding? Most of the songs are pretty dour, just like I meant them to be. Please enjoy my misery.

Thanks to Florgoth for this nice little write up for my Spoon Hammer alter-ego's latest release (out now on streaming and Bandcamp etc).
Done!
Of course the first album I listen to is an acoustic one! 😆
This is very good; stylistically I'd say it's a kind of gothic Folk. Lyrics would work in Black or DoomMetal as well. Very mellow and relaxed atmosphere.

Highly, highly recommended!

Good job @spoonhammer.bsky.social! 👍
#NowPlaying

Not familiar with the music of @spoonhammer.bsky.social yet but on their new album, I'm seeing the tags "acoustic rock", "alternative metal" and "industrial".
Sounds interesting to me!

Going in!

Spoon Hammer is going to be on the Indie Juke Box on Radio Wigwam this week (Monday on this side of the Atlantic; Tuesday on the other side). radiowigwam.co.uk/listen-live/

You can preview the 'single' "Blue Sky", which has nothing to do with this site.

Spoon Hammer is 50% of Dichroma. And that (less talented) half decided to try his hand at an alternative-acoustic syle record while work continues on the next Dichroma release.
In two weeks, Spoon Hammer's 'Than To Curse the Darkness' will be released.

A collection of 11 'acoustic' based songs, which is the polar opposite of the the first Spoon Hammer album from 2023 which was mostly industrial/metal/noise.

Heard a bit of the Black Pink concert while waiting for the bus ride home after recording tonight, and it certainly doesn't sound like they use pre-recorded vocals. A lot of flat notes.
