This government's signal legacy in higher education is going to be "we torched whatever we could right across the country because we couldn't figure out how to control the southern Ontario housing market".

Ford can't/won't build houses? Better knife some more rural colleges in NB or BC.
For anyone who thinks this government actually cares about universities & colleges, consider the following statement from the budget.

"New international student arrivals have also declined by approximately 60 per cent compared to 2024. This is a start, but
we recognise there is more work to do."

I love that Zohran did not praise Cuomo in his speech. You absolutely do not have to say nice things about bad people. We should normalize that in “polite” politics: Praising bad people is not actually “civility.”

You’re far closer to becoming disabled or homeless than you are to becoming a billionaire.

They’re not choices or moral failings.

They can happen in an instant from an infection, accident, job loss or sudden illness.

They’re minority groups you can join at any time.

Watching playoff hockey on CBC on my 4k 55" TV.
For free, over the air, via a $25 HD antenna. Like it's the 20th century.
So lame @sportsnetpr.bsky.social blocking CBC's online feed of something that is free over the air.

Every time school marks come out I am reminded how absolutely sh!tty the MyEducationBC website is.
Totally bananas that only one email address can be associated with a child's school progress.
Spend more time talking to my ex- coordinating logging in than about the class marks or attendance posted.

Hey, just a quiet reminder: it’s not true that people get more conservative as they age. *Populations* get more conservative as they age because poor and marginalized people die sooner.

Seniors Are More Conservative Because the Poor Die Off
Sometimes older voters aren’t just naturally more conservative. It’s just that wealthier and whiter people tend to live longer and healthier lives.

What’s happening in Sicily, Italy 🇮🇹 is absolutely extraordinary!

Mount Etna is erupting while its summit remains covered in snow—an incredible clash of fire and ice.

Here are some explorers skiing between lava flows and snowy slopes—a truly unprecedented sight! ⛷🔥❄️

There is a bit more piece of mind raising teenagers if you think of them more like the family cat than dog.
No walks, scattered interest in activities with you, sleep all day, eat on their own schedule, on the prowl at night. That doesn't get the cat in trouble.

I have a big ask. My 9yo son is autistic and he’s been raising a betta fish he named Kevin. Yesterday He asked if he could “share a photo of Kevin with the whole world“. I don’t know if this will work, but a dad’s gotta try. Like and share if that’s your thing. Kevin says hi! 🐟👋

One of the coolest things about publishing a book in Norway is that the gov will automatically buy 1k copies, 1.5K if its a children's book, these will then be distributed to all the libraries.

There was a day when requesting information from the gov't was free. Now you have to pay $10 not just to request gov't information, but $10 for every single ministry you think might have the info. So what used to be a single request can now require a $50 request fee. Thanks!
