What is HAPPENING lmao
A reporter asks if Mamdani stands by calling Trump a fascist. Mamdani starts to give a delicate answer.

Trump (smiles, pats Mamdani's arm): "That's OK, you can just say yes. It's easier. I don't mind."

Cleveland is facing an impending DISASTER: The RTA will soon begin cutting its transit system.

We've seen the transit death spiral before. Please contact your elected officials to call for Cuyahoga County and the State of Ohio to FUND TRANSIT OPERATIONS

Growing up as a teen in the 2010s I heard a lot about how 'dystopian' the Internet controls were in China but between what's been happening with Tik-Tok and the age and ID verification laws the US and UK are in a race to outdo them.
I subscribed to Mulvad VPN, but am worried about this global trend.
In Ohio, starting on Monday 9/29, we'll be implementing an age assurance solution similar to what we're doing in South Dakota and Wyoming. Read more here: bsky.social/about/blog/0...

Man, the worst thing is I'm working on some very cool stuff with some very cool people and despite that I just feel like shit.

Gonna have to unplug for a bit.

Be kind to your neighbors and rude to bigots.

The one thing likely to prop uneconomical AI up through bailouts is the fact that it’s an authoritarian ideological project.

Scams, spam, and disinformation are the only use cases.

Targets are groups that oppose the jackboot, like artists, intellectuals, and the tattered remnants of the press.

Every time someone says, “We should be using GenAI for good! You know, like for cancer research!” I think of stuff like this.

I cannot stress enough that it is biased, inaccurate, and full of disinformation.

Those aspects don’t change when applied to healthcare scenarios.
“The AI in the study probably prompted doctors to become over-reliant on its recommendations, ‘leading to clinicians becoming less motivated, less focused, and less responsible when making cognitive decisions without AI assistance,’ the scientists said in the paper.”
AI Eroded Doctors’ Ability to Spot Cancer Within Months in Study
Artificial intelligence, touted for its potential to transform medicine, led to some doctors losing skills after just a few months in a new study.

Science without the humanities are why we have so many fuckers already who go, "I never read the book, but I think the Torment Nexus sounds cool and I bet I could figure out how to make it real."
Fascists always find allies in their efforts to remove humanities because they thrive on inhumanity.
In which a Yale prof calls for jettisoning humanities to make way for science-only universities.

“scientists… are being punished for the sins of [humanities scholars] because we all live under one roof. I cannot see a compelling reason for our continued cohabitation.”
Unyoke the Sciences From the Humanities

Ron Deibert is absolutely the voice that the infosec industry needs to be listening to right now. We are in a moment where fascism is consolidating power and most of the infosec industry is either playing along or is busy bragging about how much AI they've shoved into their products.

No. Fuck you.

I will use a complicated word for evocative precision whenever the muse’s clarion song demands ebullience, vivacity, torpor, or solemnity, you shit-ass suck machine.
