Today’s rain deepens the suffering of families in torn tents and cracked homes. Water leaks from every direction, and the cold bites hardest at children. Nights grow harsher with no shelter. Don’t forget the people of Gaza❤️🍉🇵🇸

If there’s still a trace of humanity left, please don’t turn away. 💔
I want to return north to where our home stood, but we have no shelter.
I need $700 to buy a tent, a place for my children to sleep safely when we go back.
Your help can bring us closer to home and hope again.🙏

Annie Hall, Fargo, and The Great Dictator are NOT funny 😤

Real top 10:
1. Duck Soup
2. Il Sorpasso
3. Pee-wee’s Big Adventure
4. Sons of the Desert/The Music Box
5. Christmas in July
6. Romy & Michele
7. The Impostors
8. Singin’ in the Rain
9. Lost in America
10. High Anxiety
The movie listed at #1 is so incredibly misplaced that it calls into question the veracity of the entire list. It belongs on the list, yes, but SO MUCH further down. An absolute, credibility-wrecking flub. Boo, @variety.com! Boo!

“Weaknesses” is great for the next box. I can also see “maintenance” if squinting

4. You’re aggregating all consumer spending across all classes, when the top decile now accounts for half of all consumer spending

1. Rising inequality means the quartiles get farther apart

2. Young adults are mostly living with their families

3. If the median person is older than in the past, you have to adjust for the fact that older people are richer

1. Using bottom 50% conceals growing inequality within the bottom 50%

2. To the extent that household size is getting smaller it’s because the median U.S. age is older; young people are living in bigger households

3. So?

4. So?

Why did we stop using real wages
November 25, 2025 at 2:13 AM
1. Bottom 50% wealth is skewed by rich people who have gotten vastly richer

2. Household size cuts both ways

3. No it’s not, and this chart has the same composition effect issue

4. The “basket of goods” includes stocks, etc. which rich people own more than poor people

1. You can be poor and working class without being in poverty

2. Poverty has gone up in recent years

3. U.S. has extremely high poverty compared to peer countries

4. Re: inflation, see below

1. Your graph shows median household income not e.g. incomes by quartile

2. It is not adjusted for household size

3. The U.S. median age has grown older and older people earn more

4. CPI calculates inflation based on expenditures wealthy people make

If you care about video games at all, read this.

A lot of the greatest game developers are marginalized people that face harassment both inside and outside work. They should be protected at all costs to keep making great games, but all too often are thrown out and abandoned instead.

Imagine being belligerently wrong on genocide and income inequality for years, for an audience of Zionists who think children are terrorists and smug rich people who think poor people are lazy and ungrateful
